New iMac Shipping Notices

Mine has finally FINALLY stopped processing!!!! It is now "shipping to store" status. I missed preparing to ship some where in my 4 hour long nap .

Only problem is I was downgraded from 27th availability date to 28th!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly what kind of sick bastard at Apple is playing these games with my mind!!???!!!

I'm still at "processing" as of 8:43 Central time on Tuesday evening.

I'm in the same boat. It is supposed to be here tomorrow before noon, hasn't shipped yet. Except all three 32GB sets of memory from Amazon have shown up well before the iMac.

What do you order memory wise? I've been eyballing Crucial, and they haven't posted any memory for the new model. The memory they're selling for the 27" Retina iMac that was marked as "Mid 2015" was selling for around $160 for 32Gb. I was figuring what they sell for the newly released one would be around the same. Basically, I didn't want to pay $600 from Apple for 32Gb. I also saw some other company is saying this 27" Retina iMac will actually support up to 64Gb? Apple doesn't say that.

Anyway, back to my shipping... For the record, I ordered:

• 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display
• 4.0GHz QC i7, TB up to 4.2GHz
• 8GB 1867MHz DDR3L (2x4GB)
• 3TB Fusion Drive
• AMD Radeon R9 M395X w/4GB

So it's custom. I noticed when I went for that chip, the shipping changed from like 2 days to a week. So I knew it was gonna take a week, even though I didn't like the idea.

This is what my order says for shipping: "Available to ship: 3-5 business days / Delivers: 19 Oct, 2015 - 21 Oct, 2015 by Next Day Shipping, before noon"

I ordered it about two or three hours after they first went up for pre-order on Tuesday the 13th. The 3-5 business days ends today (Tue the 20th), that's the 5th biz day. In theory it could still ship tonight, but I would be surprised if it still happens.

I live right outside of Dallas TX.

P.S. It's my first ever Mac order. Ever - any model.

Sigh...oh well. I'd like to think I have some level of patience for these kinds of things but finding out about a delay from a customer service rep was not ideal. :/ In theory it could also still ship out on time, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, it's almost 9:30PM Tue night for me, and supposed to be here within the next 14.5 hours (cuz I paid for that). Somehow I don't think it's making it.

Anybody know if the Apple store will give you the computer with the shipping box when you pick up an order in store? Due to my circumstances, I'll need to manually ship it somewhere if the availability date slips by even just one day. My order says it will be available on the 27th, but judging from some of the posts in this thread I'm not too hopeful that will be the case anymore. Especially since it's been processing for so long and now the charge has even been removed from my credit card.

That's a good question. I don't know the answer, but just wanted to jump in and tell everyone to keep all packaging materials. When you move to a new home, or need to ship your iMac, the best way is with the original packaging. I've seen people damage their iMacs because they're really hard to move from one place to another

I wouldn't mind if they would have updated the delivery date range. I'd rather know the bad news than just wonder.

I was chatting with an agent now, and they insist it will still get here in the prescribed window (noon Wednesday).

They said that it's "not unusual" to have items in that shipping window still be accurate even though the thing hasn't shipped yet. The agent said shipping overnight, or even getting your shipment notification in the same morning it is delivered is not unheard of. That last bit definitely made me do the Mr. Spock "raised eyebrow", but we'll see I guess.

They also said it's coming from California - when I mentioned Fremont, they said there are three facilities that are building iMac's in California.

Apple agent said sorry, and they wanted me to get the newest and latest version so that was the reason for the delay. Do they think if I spend 3k I would be that stupid???? Very upset because they setup the expectations and I'm trying to schedule my work week...

Sorry, had to vent from a first time mac buyer...

I must have spoken to the same customer service rep! How could I possibly get a more "latest version" than the one that was released on the 13th? I must be getting the 7th gen processor!! Woo Hoo!

I ended up venting on their customer survey. I hope this helps to reduce their customer sat #'s.

i ordered mine on Tue the 13th about 3hrs after they were announced.

Somewhere around 23:40 Central time on Tue the 20th, it moved to preparing for shipment. It's just under 12hrs till it's supposed to be here at my house now. We'll see.

Mine finally left processing and it's now preparing for shipment! Since it took so long in processing, the bank refunded the hold on my account. All is good since it's just a matter of them doing the authorization again!

It's possible my order was charged on the 15th I had two payments a debit card and Apple Store credit card. I had tons of problems with my bank awhile ago but I made them remove the daily limit hold on my card about a year ago and haven't ever had any issue with big purchases.
