So you buy this Imac let’s say around December and then in just 6-12 months they release the ARM Imac that is 10x faster than this none? It looks like the actual feelings of the iphone11 buyers facing the iphone12 release.

If the largest size remains 27" I'll hold onto my 5K iMac from late 2014 (which has all SSD storage) for another few years. If they move up to 32" I'll upgrade immediately.

If only they had redesigned this last year when I bought mine. I knew they would be redesigning it soon! I really needed this machine though.

WOW! If this is true I may need to cancel my order! I just ordered an 8 core i9 with the vega 48 card and 3 tb fusion drive. This is tough because my 2013 is dying and I need the new one for video editing.. It's going to take a month to get here though. Should I cancel and wait??

Something iMac and Mac buyers will have to weigh up.

That's the price of progress.

If you can AT ALL wait...for the love of god, wait.

I'm in! My Late 2015 crashes all the time. Fair warning! One last chance Mr. iMac Late 2015. On hold with Apple Support now.
Funny you should say that, my late 2015 27" crashed last week as well. Let me know how you make out.

This is where the Pro Stand will come in handy.
And the ARM processors.
And the iPad with iPad OS.
or will it be called iMac OS.

The Surface Studio design is still miles ahead.
As long as you don't mind a 7th Gen Intel laptop CPU and a ridiculous price tag for an underpowered curiosity art piece, sure.

Does this mean the "but those bezels!" contingent will finally quiet down?
No...they'll simply move on to the next device on their hit parade.

no nvidia, no good
Apple hasn't shipped ANYTHING with an NVIDIA GPU since 2014...time to let it go.

When every consumer product needs a “Pro” label, even the ones that barely any companies can even afford, let alone high e d consumers - you know the company has run out of ideas...

i am so looking forward to this, setting myself up for a major disappointment at the same time...going to be long two weeks.

My prediction: after it comes out everyone will be complaining how it's too thin and too good looking and that a desktop should be for SERIOUS WORK and it needs to be thicker, have bigger bezels, bigger speakers, more powerful fans, upgradeable RAM, etc etc.

I hope they go ARM instead of another i5 laptop processor to keep the heat manageable.

Spinning hard drives will be extinct and perhaps non retina displays will also be extinct in the Apple product line.

Back at that time, iMac was the top selling Mac computer out of all. We live in a new world.
It might have still been the case if it got more attention. That may be an exaggeration, but the iMac sales would likely be much larger if it had got regular performance updates and design improvements.
