Couldn't see it posted elsewhere, so I'll say "Comes With Cleaning Cloth". Guess you'll need it with all that glass.

Also, my concern is the layout of buttons on the new keyboard. It struck me the other day the rumoured and now confirmed board has media controls where exposé currently is and have moved brightness from F14/15 to F1/2. I hope both will continue to function as originally planned under Leopard. I like my chunky BT keyboard as it is now thanks. While I'll get one included with the new iMac, I might just stick with this one most of the time.

Either way, I think today has finally made my mind up to wait out Leopard. Hopefully minor bumps when it comes included, however unlikely that may be. 320GB too small, 1GB too small and glossy display not up my alley, but with almost certainly go for it anyway. I might custom it through computerwarehouse.co.uk, or stick to stock and buy discounted from work, (definitely worth the wait out). Either way, single 1GB SO-DIMM means only about £30 to upgrade to 2GB and I have over 1TB external already. Should be fine.

can't you just get one now, then buy leopard when it comes out and update it??

ah, ofc, i ' ll just go out to the money tree i have in the back !!!

No really, since leopard is like months away, it does not make sense to pay 150$ extra when you know in 2 months it WILL be included with leopard...

Bt Keyboard A Joke!!!!

I was all cool and digging everything until I finally muddled my way to the accessories section of the lagged Apple.com. When I saw the wireless keyboard, my initial thought was that the image hadn't finished loading yet because of the traffic.... until I realized there were arrows on that keyboard.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............

I just got my BT keyboard for Christmas last year and was totally ready to plunk down what ever for the new one..... until I saw that it is the exact same as a laptop keyboard. WTF APPLE????? Why couldn't you have added the keypad right next to the compact keys on the BT version? I could get used to using FN UP AND DOWN for PG UP and PG DOWN, but taking away the key pad also???

No BT keyboard for me thank you very much!

Apple NH store: "Actually, I don't know anything about new iMacs"
Me: "Well, it's on apple.com"
Apple store: "Well, it was down last time I looked at it"

What noobs.

Anyway, not a fan of the black border. It looks as if the screen isn't entirely filled. (Illusion)

I like the look and everything, but I'm REALLY let down by the video card options. ATI HD 2600 Pro? I'm sorry, but the Nvidia 7600GT that's in my 24" right now is about on par with the ATI. I was hoping for an upgrade in the graphics...like the Nvidia 8600GT perhaps...which is much better than the ATI card in terms of power.

Just look at all the tests on the web of the ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro compared to other cards in it's price range.

I was hoping for a little bit more. But the store is still down, maybe they offer higher end video as an option. But I doubt it.

Hmm. So lets see, we have sub-par ATI GFX (everyone knows their cards suck like no ones business, no matter how many numbers in the name)

...and a sub-par designed mac that manages to look more like a Samsung TV than a consumer-level computer... oh dear.

:(

Great. I guess it's time to stock up on the old style keyboard.

In my opinion Apple is starting to suck. The iMacs look the same except now they're brushed metal, no real innovation there. And that keyboard will not sell at all.

On top of that, from what I've seen, Leopard looks horrible.

Now, I've been a huge Apple fan since the OS 9.0 days. But they have yet to impress me since the announcement of the iPhone in January. With this announcement, I strongly believe that they have lost their innovation. I don't think this iMac should even be considered the 4th generation iMac. It looks the same as the iMac G5, but brushed metal and a little thinner.

Ugh! The Apple Store came up and went back down again! :(

Strangely enough, other countries stores seem to work. I accessed the US before the UK and it kept throwing up errors then went down.

It doesn't however make it conclusive how exactly the UK keyboard will look. For example, the US boards say option on the key, the UK ones have never said that IIRC. I actually thought the US ones didn't either recently, so perhaps a step back. Either way, I would want all the keys looking the same as they do now. One delete key and a <---- please, not a delete <--- and delete [>.

First of all the on the home page... you can't start a sentence with "Or".

The mac mini is still going to be discountinued. It uses the same motherboard and still has no 'N' wireless. All they did was slap some more ram, faster hard drive and faster cpu in it. LAME but better than it gone completely.

new imacs in retail stores already

I just called my closest Apple Store (Tyson's Corner in Northern VA) and they told me they already have the full line of new iMacs, and they said they had quite a few in stock and expect more before the end of the week.

I am a switcher with an ailing 4-year old Dell who has been waiting for 6 months or so for new iMacs, so I'm very excited. I am not a gamer, and this will be my home office computer so I think this will be a great choice for me. Unfortunately, DH has an evening meeting so I'm on Mom duty for the rest of the day and I can't get there until tomorrow.

I did notice when the Apple store was briefly up that it said the (paltry) 1GB of RAM comes as 1 X 1 GB instead of 2 X 512 MB, so at least I would only have to buy another 1 x 1GB to upgrade. Still, for the $1499 model I plan to buy I had hoped for 2 GB as standard.
