I find it hard to believe that Apple can't make up its "Mind", I mean seriously, the logical thing to do would be to implement Quad Core on the higher end model.. or if its affordable then maybe even the entry.. I think the story about Apple not being able to make up its mind is fake.. Im gonna wait and see if the new iMacs release tomorrow.

And i don't know why people talk about snow leopard, I highly doubt the release is gonna be this year at all, so its not really a concern, and as far as I know the interface is gonna be the exact same so I don't know what to be excited for..

Are you serious keynote will be tomorrow? I want to optimist same like you but I dont. Im really unlucky person this update process. I sold my iMac 20" Aliu 2.0GHz then my Acer Aspire motherboard burned and Apple didnt release new iMac on San Francisco and CNet analyst says new iMac will be release March or June... My head so confused I dont know what I feel...

However Im thinking about Snow Leopard as same you... I dont care Snow Leopard I can buy a later I need just new iMac.... I hope you're right and Apple will keynote tomorrow and release new iMac.:(

It's hard to believe that Apple would do a "stealth" release of new iMacs and minis now, without even dropping a hint three weeks ago when they had the attention of the entire tech press corps at Macworld. That doesn't seem like Apple's MO. If they were that close to being ready they would have dropped a teaser or two.

well if all there doing is a speed bump whats the need for a show?

I saved up too, and I hate Apple upgrade process...

There have been updates in late January and late February. Revised PowerBook G4s in January 2005 is one example.

I don't think the two situations are comparable. Macworld 2005 had a few big announcements, unlike this year's. That PB G4 update was fairly minor too.

None. But I think the iMac/mini revisions are expected to be more than just speed bumps.

I'm assuming that since we haven't heard anything yet, it ain't coming today?

I was kinda hopeful too

Yep, guess my bet was wrong. Pretty depressing.

I have an Apple Developer's Hardware discount that is going to expire in two days and Apple doesn't make a single machine I'm interested in purchasing. They are either underpowered and outdated (mini), total overload or expensive (Pro), under powered all-in-ones with for me unusable glossy screen (iMac) and I won't even get into my frustration over the MB and MBP lineups!

So after 20+ years of using Macs as my primary machine and owning over 25 different models over the years - looks like my next primary machine will be a PC. While Mac OS X is the superior OS, the hardware choices are lagging WAY behind and either Apple doesn't realize it or doesn't care.

So yep, I'm mad too!

I'm seriously totally disappointed right now, and angry :p. I can't understand why Apple is taking so long, at this time im hoping Apple runs out of business :p

$1950 for that system? Sounds high to me, 9800 GT isn't even a good card anymore
Where are you buying your parts?
