Some phone manufacturers make it so that there is no notch whatsoever. They have a circular hole where the front camera goes. I wonder why Apple didn't go for a similar approach.

Isn’t that supposed to be the point? For the notch to be seamless with the menu bar so it doesn’t interrupt your actual content?
The notch is already seamless with menu bar and never interrupt your content but for that design the notch will surely interrupt the menu bar and not seamless at all.

2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 - these laptops are too thin, come on Apple stop with the form over function, give us a slightly bigger machine with more power and better battery life

2021 - this is way to big, how chunky? Come on Apple this is far too big and heavy

The notch is ugly and the menubar is too tall. That's pretty much the only complaints here in this thread.

Horrible design. The all-black keyboard looks worse than the previous iterations. The notch is a disaster. The only good thing they did was remove the Touch Bar - which in itself was a huge misstep when introduced. At least they acknowledged that and got rid of it.
The design is perfect. The keyboard draws attention to the letters now rather than the empty space around the keys. The old design looked tacky and dated.

You can see how much higher off the desk the bottom of the body is due to the increased height of the feet - adds to the illusion of increased thickness, but likely helps with giving the chassis room to breathe for cooling.
Not only that, but good for preventing scratches. I've scratched a few of my MBP's in the past from just a measly grain of sand on the surface I put it on. It doesn't take much to scratch aluminum

The chassis has a definite old school pre-2008 MBP look to it when looked at head on with a closed lid though

This whole notch/oberall design thing has clearly showed the divide between those who just want a pretty laptop that will look good at Starbucks and those who are buying these to get real work done and make money using them.

I’m not going to buy a pro laptop—but I think Apple did a great job. More of this, please.
As long as they keep the Air <3lbs. It would be odd for Apple to make all their notebooks heavier now that they are using far more efficient chips.
