I don’t think the keyboard is that badly priced. It would cost you at least 200 for the Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard 2. The iPad keyboard is also backlit And it has a sturdy hinge. If your iPad is essential to your workflow I think it would be worth it. On the plus side the standard Smart Keyboard is also available.

Agree. Plus this works with a Magic Trackpad and a Magic Mouse which I will probably end up buying for this.

You only get the this Magic Keyboard if you want that floating iPad.

But on the desk, the larger Magic Trackpad is much better.

So this is pretty much similar to the 3rd gen Pros in terms of specs. Just another type of A12 (don’t know if it will be faster), and a extra camera

that’s it really

Just wish it didnt cost over 1/3 of the ipad cost. That's a ripoff honestly. $179/199 was already high for a keyboard.

$229/249 for this one would have been a decent price. A $50 premium still.

That's nuts. You're at $1100/1350 for a BASE ipad and keyboard.

It's only a ripoff if there are other similar iPad keyboards with the same or better features as Apple's, and priced significantly less.

Don't need those extra features and/or don't want to pay the $$$? No worries. There are a ton of lower priced keyboards available out there.

I'm honestly underwhelmed.. I expected more changes perhaps a new display type at least. I couldn't care less about a camera.

With the keyboard being backwards compatible i'll probably just keep my 2018 11" - it was jsut replaced new at the genuis bar

Nice but prices are getting a bit silly now. Think I'll stick to my 10.5" pro until they go OLED with iPads.
They won't go OLED on the ipads. They'll use miniLED.

Waiting on real world performance comparisons for this new CPU. And confirmation on RAM.

Brydge already does it for $130 less at $199/229 https://www.brydge.com/products/brydge-pro-plus-for-ipad-pro AND its metal. Backlit, trackpad, all the same function

A bit bulkier yes but 2/3 the cost. Again, I stand by my point that this should have been $299 at the most for the large version (and $229/249 would have been more than fair). It's at least $50-75 overpriced versus the competition even with the "Apple tax"

I will bite on buying it only if it is future proof for 3 years+! That means 8GB of RAM inside. My iPad Pro 11” currently has only 4GB inside. Apple has alway been very frugal on it RAM since that the main thing that makes a model obsolete!

People: keyboard is too expensive! Should only be $10

also people: spends $500 on eating out and useless crap every month that benefits them in no way.

I cringed at the price too. Then i saw what it could do. I hesitate to say its worth exactly that much, but it definitely needs a price bump over the current keyboards. This thing makes your freaking ipad float. The keys light up. It’s got another usb c port. It’s got a trackpad. People be acting like it’s just a POS cheapo keyboard thats not worth much

Also: Apple has this alongside the regular keyboards. If you still want the older ones, they still make those too
The problem is that this $300 keyboard is not as good as a $10 keyboard (as far as productivity is concerned).

Where you can use 5G networks?

I'm not interested in it, but if they keep their iPads for a long time like me (I still have my iPad 4 with the A6) it's very likely that 5G will be widely available while they still have it and having that bump ready to go would be kind of nice. That said, I'm just going for the WiFi model. I don't need cellular.
