No complains here. No dead pixels and no bleeding. Agree the white balance is a tad too warm, but I can live with that.

It does heat up more than my iPad 2, specially in the lower left corner. Nothing terrible, though. Don't think I'll be getting any 3rd degree burns here. :D

My new iPad just arrived. Screen is a lot more yellow than the old one. In fact it is more yellow than any other iPhone or iPad that I own.

On top of that, it has 3 distinct area with dead pixels. When you look close, it looks like the dead pixels are paired up next to one another, making them more noticeable. I'll most likely return this one when things quiet down at the store. Sigh...

Mine is perfect - LOVE the screen!

Only minor thing, it won't charge when plugged into the computer. It syncs and is recognized, but the battery status says "Not Charging". I can charge it using a regular outlet.

Googling around this seems to have been an issue before with older computers, but mine is not old (just bought in January) and it charges my ipod touch and my son's iphone fine. Seems to do with power coming from the USB port not being enough for what the iPad needs. Annoying since I'm used to charging while syncing or working at my comp, but not bad overall. Pretty awesome otherwise!

But then, with this being my first iPad, I'll ask the vets, should I be concerned?

Is it a PC? (rather than a mac) If so nothing to worry about - none of my iPads have ever charged from a PC, not enough power from the USB port. Charges slowly on my iMac though.

Ashamed to admit here (hehe), but yes, its a PC, lol... and now yet another reason for me to get an iMac! Thanks schmidt!

Front facing camera on mine is broken and there's a noticeable yellow tint down the left side of the screen :(

I've got what looks to be a faulty backlight along the upper left side of the screen... on a light background it looks like a black splotch.

Dead pixel. Otherwise it's freaking perfect. Kinda don't want to chance having something else wrong with a replacement unit since the pixels are so damn small.

Regardless, third Apple product in a month that's jacked up. Mac mini had to be replaced due to kernel panics and my MBA's J key fell off when I opened it up!!!:apple:

these are the threads that never end

Same here. My two PC desktops are 2009 models and my iPads have never charged through the USBs.

iPad 32gb has a few dead pixels. I think I'm going to live with it though. I don't really feel like taking it back as its not very noticeable

Yet you never read you're mail.

And you never proofread you are posts.

Not sure if it is just my eyes, but I can see a very slight green to pink hue (colour change) as I look from left to right across the screen (landscape orientation).

I'll put up with it for now, as it is so minor, but will take it back to an Apple Store once the stocks are plentiful.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this? I can see it mostly on white screens but also on greyish areas such as in mail, settings etc.

I have the pink tinge - portrait left to right. Top corner. Apart from that perfect and no bleed at all. So probably will keep. Pink tinge might receded with use.

So guys... This is my first iPad. Is it supposed to be apple pie warm?

You just paid a premium for a product but you can't drive to the closest Apple store do an in-store replacement? That right there is just.. I don't know.

I have 1 dead pixel and a tiny scratch on the aluminum casing near the lock button. I'm just gonna keep it. I don't really notice the yellow tint people are talking about too much, even when comparing to my iPad 2. Overall very happy with my new iPad.

Don't lower your standard when it comes to Apple products.
You should expect perfection for the premimum price that is paid for their products.

Go to your nearest Apple store, request an exchange, open the replacement and inspect it before leaving.
