Don't lower your standard when it comes to Apple products.
You should expect perfection for the premimum price that is paid for their products.

Go to your nearest Apple store, request an exchange, open the replacement and inspect it before leaving.

Well that is one of the problems also. My nearest Apple store is about 150 miles away, so I don't want to deal with the hassle. Since others have had luck getting a partial refund through calling AppleCare I might give that a try.

I have a dead pixel(s). Almost center of the screen. Other than thatmim in love. Might try to get it replaced.

While browsing THIS thread using Safari on the new iPad, it rebooted. I don't ever recall even my original doing that. Strange :(

So guys... This is my first iPad. Is it supposed to be apple pie warm?

----------

You just paid a premium for a product but you can't drive to the closest Apple store do an in-store replacement? That right there is just.. I don't know.

Were you on cell data or WiFi? My iPad 1 on WiFi runs at 87F. My new iPad, on AT&T 4G, has been running at 95F. When I put it on WiFi the temp drops back. I was also surprised by how toasty it got on cell. (I have a laser type thermometer to measure temps)

Now this has me believe the Safari crashes that started right around iOS 5.0 is SW induced and the HW doesn't matter.
Apple needs to fix this. Safari was far more stable before the 5.0 update.
What version of iOS do you have loaded?

There's either a hair under the screen or the glass is scratched inside my iPad. Called Apple and a replacement is on the way in 2-3 weeks. I said I didn't want to return mine until I had the replacement so I was sent a waiver form to sign. Got 5 days to arrange the return once the new one arrives or I'll be charged for it.

Pretty good :)

I think it's my camera not the iPad it honestly does not look yellow in person

I've heard the temp is warmer so I'm sure that's why the yellowish color is showing up on the camera pic, but looking at the screen in real life, you don't notice it at all. It's gorgeous, actually!

I'm getting the same issue. Flashes. Very slow to load and sometimes it becomes unresponsive for 5-10 seconds. I don't get the white blocks though. Cannot fully load that page without something going wrong.

I'm not getting white blocks, but when playing youtube videos, I do get a quick white flash on the video screen and then it keeps right on playing back to normal. These were videos that were favorites I had on youtube and I never had any white flashes on them on my iPad 2.

No light leaks or light bleed at all for me. The iPad 3 though does seem like it could use more memory. When I go into Settings and then start clicking on General, then iCloud, then Mail, then Twitter, etc, it's instantaneous on some of them, and others, there's a noticeable 1-2 secong lag sometimes as it switches to the different fields. Never had this on the iPad 2.

Still, overall I'm very very happy with the upgrade. The dictation feature is way better, and more accurate, than I thought it would be too. I can see myself using this feature a lot. I think they could have done more with the iPad 3 (although the screen is outstanding), I just expected a little more of at least 1 "wow" factor, and really, there was none. It's a much better upgrade if you're going from an iPad 1 or never owned an iPad, than going from an iPad 2. I think I easily could have stayed with the iPad 2 and been happy, but it didnt cost that much after selling my iPad 2 to upgrade to the new/3.

Mine had a bunch of dead pixels and the screen was tinted yellow. I returned it and the new one is perfect.

Mine has a few dead pixels. Running a dead pixel repair off YouTube. Hopefully that fixes it. If not, going to exchange at the apple store.

I was right... Its better to wait 3 or 6 months before bying the new iPad... For now I will enjoy my new iPad 2...

There's no need to wait. Any issues are dealt with by walking into an Apple store and getting the unit replaced. It's what simple.

Using the color test, I found 1 dead pixel that shows up on everything except black. It is in the lower left about 1" in from left and from bottom.

Only 1 so not too bad!

My display is pretty much exactly the same. My pixel is the same spot and shows up on each background except black. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it as I don't think it will bother me much as time goes on. I was really sad when my 27" iMac had a single dead pixel, but now I don't even notice its there.

Its obvious by now the iPad 3 runs hotter than the 2, but has anyone been reporting true overheating where it forces the iPad to shutdown and such?

Anyway, thankfully my iPad seems to be completely clean. I mean some very slight light bleeding on an edge, but nothing distracting like I had on the 2.

Dead Pixels or Dust

I am gutted to say the least!! I can see three so far! I have sent an email and just waiting a reply! i am also pondering going into a store to see if they will exchange it but i bought through the online store :(

But at least all is not lost unlike the guy who had his ran over by the courier!

store demo @ bestbuy had 1 dead pixel and TONS of dust under the screen.

Mine has quite a bit of dust under it, and what I thought was glue on the screen, turned out to be deep scratches.

I forgot to mention that when I phoned up Apple though, so hopefully they'll be doing a full screen replacement anyway to fix the horrible yellowing issues.

Mine has quite a bit of dust under the screen too. I grow tired of this game and I never feel confident that a replacement will be any better. Does the Apple Store carry a separate stock for exchanges?

They keep a stock of exchanges separate from those for sale. Go to a AS and show them. Good thing is you can power it up and check it before you leave.

Thanks - good to know. Do I need to make an appointment with the genius bar first?
