I'm hoping!!!

I hope this is right, I'm looking forward to get my first iPad soon which is 2nd Gen. Give me that camera and retina display Apple and then I'm all good!

Froyo? Honeycomb? Gingerbread? What else, Gollum, Butter Cookie and Christmas Brownie?

That's exactly why Android will NEVER surpass Apple...the OS version fragmentation is too much for any ordinary user's taste...people are already feeling it in smartphones and they won't want it in tablets, especially considering that the iPad ecosystem is so well consolidated.

ROFL and +1;

i plan on getting the 32 GB wifi ipad 2 version for probably around $600. i don't think it'll be higher than that, but if it is, i'd probably spend up to $700 for it. i don't think i'll need more than 32 GB since i won't be putting a ton of music on it since i have an ipod touch 4g. the ipad 2 i plan on having some movies/tv shows, some games and apps for making music/reading the news, etc.

i remember reading a while back that most people who got the first gen got the 32 GB version, as they don't need as much as 64 gb, and 16 may feel a bit thin for others. 32 seems like a good middle ground.

but i guess if the 64 gb is at a good price for ipad 2, i'll consider it just in case. that way i guess i won't have to upgrade until ipad 4 or 5 or something. who knows.

but like the dude above me said, i don't care the price essentially; i'm buying the ipad 2. at the very least, the 32gb wifi only version. and i cannot wait.

i hope the old rumors in december from Foxconn are right about the release date being within 100 days of that date, which would put the release in the middle of march at the latest. i'm really hoping for an announcement in hte next two weeks, and a release in the next month or less. that'd be so perfect!

iPad 1 16G wifi only: $399
iPad 1 16G 3G + wifi: $499

iPad 2 32G wifi only: $599
iPad 2 16G 3G + wifi: $599
iPad 2 64g 3G + wifi: $699

iPad 2 3G will be gsm/CDMA dual.

Above pricing means the 64 gig + 3G model is the best value for money, and likely to attract the most sales after the $399 model.

Lol!

Uh, no. Apple has almost never announced a product update more than a couple of weeks before availability. And when they have it has been because the announcement was tied to an event, like MacWorld, where they couldn't really control the date of the announcement.

Ummmm...no, you are wrong.

Remember January 27, 2010?...Apple announced the iPad. The iPad took PREORDERS starting March 12, 2010 (2 months later)...the WIFI ONLY was RELEASED in the USA on April 3, 2010...and WIFI +3G on April 30...basically 2.5-3 months after it's announcement was it in full release in the USA. And that's just the USA...other geographies were later.

The rumor that's been floating around for 2 weeks is that the iPad 2.0 will be announced sometime in January and released sometime in April. We'll see. I'd like to see more features and a cheaper price in the lowest model...and more storage...16GB is pathetic for a $500 roughly 9"x10" computer device that's supposed to store/play all my movies/music/photos.

It was overpriced at $500, but $600? Wow.

The thing cannot even properly view half of the internet (Read: flash) yet costs more than most laptops.

Save the money and buy yourself a real tablet.

Sorry but Gingerbread is going to annihilate the iPad when it comes out.

lol, someone has no idea what they're talking about. Most people know about iPads and iOS (the ancient librarian at my local library knows how to use one) but almost no one will understand you if you say "Gingerbread is coming out!" Besides, iPad 2 is rocking some awesome features that Motorola and other companies failed to incorporate... Such as that ridiculously large display.

Agreed, although if the display rumors are true....maybe $599. Ughh I'm starting to not like these super quick refreshes! *It's like Futurama, you have a 301 inch T.V the next day they come out with one that's 302 inches:rolleyes:

*From the movie "Into the Wild Green Yonder"

Haha! :) Yeah I agree. Although I like the fact that flipping Apple products is pretty easy. I keep selling my iPhones for enough money that upgrading is not a big deal (except for being stuck in another contract).

Maybe you should read Snowy_River's post before telling him he's wrong...

Simply put, if they announce it soon, it'll be available soon. If it's not going to be available until April, we won't see an announcement until March. At least that's my take....

He means product refreshes, not brand new products. So yeah, Snowy's right and you're wrong.

With all the speculation of wether Apple would raise the prices or not... Can you remember that I think iFixit priced the pieces of iPad to be like $254? I think they left plenty of wiggle room for the next iPad to be much cheaper.

this past week we've learned:

—iOS 4.3 shows us gestures, and three ipad 2 versions in the coding, also, iphone 5 versions coming in summer
—no home button rumors?
—evidence of an ipad 2 camera(s)
—ipad 2 launch in april? or wait...is it february? who knows!
—apple store-only availability come april?
—the ipad's 'The Daily' is delayed again
—probably the most definitive evidence yet of ipad 2's improved screen resolution, quadrupeling the first gen's, making it a somewhat-retina display
—a new processor, the A5
—ipad 2 getting an SD card slot?
—qualcommm as the new chip-maker
—Best buy lists 3 models on its website right now
—CDMA/GSM/Wifi versions, which i think we've all known for at least a week-ish

it's been a pretty interesting week in ipad 2 rumors, i'd say.

Except Best Buy knows nothing more than anyone else and is just reacting to the earlier rumours.
Rinse and Repeat.

Kinda right. But what was meant was that Apple don't announce a new model early since it would cannibalise existing sales. New, non self-competing products they will announce in order to whet peoples appetites and draw them from competitors products.

Oh and what does SUK mean?

iPad 1 16G wifi only: $399
iPad 1 16G 3G + wifi: $499

iPad 2 32G wifi only: $599
iPad 2 16G 3G + wifi: $599

Apple will never do that because that is the dumbest and most confusing price structure ever.

so best buy just pulled those prices out of their nose's?

Or just keep the old pricing but some one typo'ed the $599 which should be $499. No doubt will see Amazon place holders get leaked next week.

We see these every time we get close to the end of the expected product cycle they are rarely correct about anything other than the things that are carried over from the previous generation.

He had a Honeycomb and Gingerbread sandwich. Honeycomb can't even run on a single core. How many current Android users are aware that most will not be able to run Honeycomb on their current devices?

Honeycomb=Bloatware. Google is making Android into Vista for Smart Phones.

iOS 4.3 will make Jake LaLane look like a couch potato. :apple:

Yup! Also, you think Android is fragmented in software and hardware right now??? Haha, just wait till they split it again into Android and Tablet Android. My goodness, as if it wasn't a big enough mess already!

While Apple unifies and unifies iOS and their hardware with simple upgrades for developers like double resolution screens, Google makes Android more and more fragmented and complicated for developers! Good luck with that Google. Oh and now in their spare time they are screwing up the progress of the web and HMTL5 with WebM. Google is nothing but a patent whore that just doesn't want to pay for the technology they use to collect data on people and serve adds! And yet fools out there think they are some high and mighty company that wants to help people and make things open and free. Haha, ya right, if only their motives were so pure!

I agree it's rather confusing - was just trying to figure why they would have 2 models at $599 - the boring logical excuse would be one gsm & one CDMA, but like I said, boring.
