So, would you like a Mac with a touchscreen just as much? In other words, do you want to use iPadOS at all? Are dreaming of some dual-boot device? My 2018 iPado 12.9” is still doing fine.
What feature would entice me to upgrade?
A centered camera? Please.
Micro leds? As if I could give AF
Running macOS? Yes!! Sign me up!!!
iPad Pros already cost more than Macs.If they ever add macOS, you can bet they add Mac pricing along with it.
I can get the new M3 MBA 13in for £1,020. The current M2 12.9in iPad Pro is £1,250, and will no doubt rocket up another £100+ with the OLED model. It does make me think....iPad Pros already cost more than Macs.
I can’t imagine that there won’t be something new for the 12.9-inch Air. Unless they plan to use the outgoing keyboard for the big Pro on the Air. But that doesn’t sound like Apple, does it?I still wonder if there will be new magic keyboard for the ipad air… they keep saying for the Pro… with no mention for the Air.
Tbf, there is the M2 11-inch iPad Pro which cost less than the M3 MBA 13-inch…I can get the new M3 MBA 13in for £1,020. The current M2 12.9in iPad Pro is £1,250, and will no doubt rocket up another £100+ with the OLED model. It does make me think....
There is also the M2 13in MBA that is £880. I think it is fair to compare the 13in screen size models.Tbf, there is the M2 11-inch iPad Pro which cost less than the M3 MBA 13-inch…
The lack of a touch screen is the only thing preventing me from opting for a MB Air instead of a larger iPad Air or Pro. I had a 14-inch MB Pro with the M1 Pro chip. It did a fine job but, without the touch screen, I found myself going back to either my Mac desktop for heavy lifting and my iPads for everything else. I’m speaking only for myself but laptops feel awkward to me. I really prefer a touch screen to a track pad and clicker.Tbf, there is the M2 11-inch iPad Pro which cost less than the M3 MBA 13-inch…
I don’t think this will ever come from Apple. There really is no possibility let’s just be honest. Not sure why people keep asking to have macOS on an iPad.Most people would be willing to pay more for a device that would be measurably more capable.
and will no doubt rocket up another £100+ with the OLED model.
No joke, I had an ipad pro that was at 88 percent battery capacity. Took it back a year later and it was 90 percent...Yes, I don’t trust the algorithm that Apple uses. I have several older iPads that have bad battery life compared to when they’re new and coconutbattery says their battery life is in the 70% which is due for a replacement. Apples diagnostics software always says they’re good. 😡

Completely understand. But you responded to a comment about iPad Pros being more costly than Macs and I was merely presenting another comparison stating otherwise. There is also the M2 13in MBA that is £880. I think it is fair to compare the 13in screen size models.
Given the exchange rate has improved, A £100 increase is effectively a £200 increase in some ways, just the exchange rate has help offset part of the increase.£100? The optimist of the group![]()
This is madness to not allow the owner to pay to replace a battery!
We don't want your stinkin' $100...when we can extract 10x more.
Their website states the price and nothing about Apple Care requirement. They are very willing to replace iPhone batteries that are >90% still. Are they much easier to replace? Either way, their service/support website is incredibly misleading. I will just make do for now. That’s because Apple doesn’t replace your battery. They replace the entire device altogether. That’s why the price of a battery replacement is akin to buying a new device if it’s not covered by AppleCare.
You are better off approaching a third party repair shop to replace the iPad battery. Which is what I did, though they didn’t go a perfect job (you can see bits of dried glue at the sides where they took the screen apart). But I am still happy with the end result (my battery had bloated and was pushing the screen apart).
So it’s better when people have no right and are forced to be monopolists slaves?Let’s hope they don’t. Idiot bureaucrats shouldn’t be making such decisions.
I don’t get the point of wanting macOS on the iPad format. Are you guys just looking for a cheaper option?
Yeah, it doesnt… but this is the current situationI can’t imagine that there won’t be something new for the 12.9-inch Air. Unless they plan to use the outgoing keyboard for the big Pro on the Air. But that doesn’t sound like Apple, does it?
I mean, a headphone jack would be nice...Does any one want any new physical feature for the ipad? this product is mature I just do not see anything more than the usual spec bump.
If you want to do advancement, it should be on the software side of things. I also go lost between all the different namings and versions of the ipad. What is it now? Air 3, ipad 2024, max? who knows
This would be the ONLY reason to upgrade from my M1 iPad Pro 12.9.I want capability of running MacOS on new iPad Pro OLED!
Not sure why people keep asking to have macOS on an iPad.
In Australia the base M2 MacBook Air is basically the same price as an M2 iPad Pro with the same amount of storage…If they ever add macOS, you can bet they add Mac pricing along with it.
