For the last time... Android is an OS.. So how can a hardware mock up showing ios7 look like android...

Do you mean it looks like a s5 or an experia z?..

Good luck getting that into people's heads around here, probably at least 25% of the users on this site think Android and Droid mean the same thing.

as long as there will still be a smaller (~4") device for those of us who don't own a men purse, apple can go on and make as many big devices as they want.

Oh look, another person who hasn't picked up a bigger device! They fit in the pockets just fine.

I really, really hope Apple only make big phones from now on, the tears from you guys are far too entertaining.

With your logic, we should all be using 17" laptops.

Except 13 or even 11 inch laptops are enjoyable to use. Small smartphones aren't.

A 4.7 inch screen really shouldn't make the phone much bigger, if Apple is just smart (which they use to be ).

I really hope they do this. Although I'd rather they match the top bezel to the bottom, uneven bezels is android tackiness.

Oh look, another person who needs the size of his smartphone for his ego.

anyway I have used devices up to the lg flex with its 6" display. I just doesn't work for me, since it's still meant to be a phone.

Anyway it seems I am not as ignorant as you are as I am ok with different device sizes. If Apple would do as you say and only makes big devices - no harm done - there are finally some really good options in the android part of the smartphone universe with smaller footprints like the sony z1 compact

Wut

Quite different from developed, marketed and shipped no?

Wow. You must have really poor self esteem if you think that talking on a large phone in public would somehow be embarrasing.

I think the thing with the phone is that since after the initial large handsets there was a period where phones became steadily smaller and a wee bit more functional. Therefore with advancement in technology the size shrank(think Motorola flip phone for instance). What we're seeing here is the opposite now where the device size is getting larger. While I grasp why many would appreciate a larger screen it does look quite ridiculous when it takes entire one side of your face while on a call.

Maybe 4.7 is the sweet spot as someone has already said but any larger seems unmanageable.

I don't think it looks ridiculous at all. I hardly ever make phone calls the "old fashioned" way anymore, and I rarely see others do as well. Text messaging makes up all of my communications during the day, and when I'm home in the evening I'll make calls but I use earbuds. Better quality and I can talk and do other things at the same time. The times I've actually held my iphone up to my ear can probably counted on one hand. I don't know why the comparison is always made to those old small flip phones everyone used to use. Those things were literally just phones that you held up to your head. Smartphones aren't used the same at all.

Anyway, on the subject of the renders, was anyone else reminded of the Xperia Z2?

Everyone is certainly entitled to have an opinion, just like everyone is entitled to having an *******. I really couldn't care less about either one, and I can't understand why anyone else would be so concerned about what a random passer-by thinks of your cell phone. Unless you have a really piss-poor self esteem or some other mental baggage, in which case you would probably be better of meeting a shrink than spending top dollar on the latest fad in fashion in hopes of getting some acceptance.

But then again, that's obviously just my opinion...

No, it sure isn't. What has that got to do with your poor self esteem?

People are still arguing about this? I personally think it looks ridiculous because cell phones have evolved immensely, above and beyond those brick phones (my self esteem is just fine). BUT to each his own.

If you wanna use a big phone, good for you. If you don't want to, just don't buy it. Don't ridicule others.

Nah, no ego. I don't think very highly of myself in general. No big phone compensation either, I'm fine in that regard.

Really I think if Apple is going to do two sizes it should be 4" and 5". Three sizes wouldn't hurt either at 4", 4.7", 5.5".

Really I was kidding about the last part, the small screen guys just get really annoying using the same old arguments that hold no merit like big phones not fitting in pockets. One guy said he hated all big phone fans for making small phones go out of style the other day. A lot of these guys just subscribe to whatever Apple says and let them form their opinions for them, they think anyone who doesn't want a 3.5/4 inch phone is wrong.

Ugh, something about that camera area design on these renders look horrible for some reason, I really hope it doesn't look like that.

I seem to remember someone mentioning in Rumors the drawings look like it may be a sapphire back ..... oh right that was me yesterday.

I'd love to see the sleep/wake button if it is confirmed that it's going on the side to double up as a camera button when in camera mode.

Renderings and what Apple is going to come up with are 2 different things. Its to early for any Substantial leaks Yet!

Using a 13" cMBP right now...

Seriously thinking of moving up to 15" rMBP. 13" is simply just too small...for me, at least.

But hey, we all have different preferences. I want a 4" iPhone. Maybe someone else doesn't. You can't tell anyone what to think.

Are you gonna tell us what pants to wear next? Because I'm sure that, I, as well as everyone else here, has the ability to choose whatever clothing they enjoy wearing. Just as some people here like their iPhone 4/s.

Do you walk up to people irl and tell them that their phone simply isn't right? I can envision it. You accost some stranger, dash their iPhone 4 to the ground, and scream "You hate small phones!" at them. Then you chuckle at their tears, because, y'know, they're crying since some jackass broke their phone.

All of my pants and jeans are form fitting.

This.

And also...don't forget. There are many white girls who buy iPhones to look trendy, or cool, or fashionable, or whatever. Yes, please tell them that they'll be using a 4.7" phone, which 100% will NOT fit in their pocket.

And don't we all HATE having heavy items in your pocket, even if they do fit?

I personally do not care what size or sizes of iPhones are produced. I will be upgrading this cycle. If they come out with a 4.7" and a 5.5", before I buy I will go to the Apple store to see which one fits my hand better. Not all 5.5" phones will necessarily feel the same. It depends on the design of the case and the material used on the back. My son has a Galaxy Note 2 and I don't like the way it feels. To me it feels slippery and a full case would be way too bulky.

What I would really like to see is a total redesign of the user interface and look for iOS 8. iOS has become really boring and out of date when compared to some of the newer OS's. It needs to be modernized.

Even the iPhone with 4,7 inch screen looks too big, especially compared to the normal sized iPhone 4/4S. For me iPhone 5/5S is already too big. I hope Apple will keep small iPhones as well. I want to buy a new smaller iPhone.

The 5 is too big?! Do you have the hands of a 3 year old?

Ivy is an idiot.

When is someone going to realize that Ivy is an idiot. It's almost as if he doesn't even use his own products. The iphone cant even recognize a phone number in the Reminders pane. It still is this tap small x's ********. They need to buy Flipboard and put those guys in charge. Hell it still takes me 4 or 5 times to turn off an alarm button. Ivy is an idiot. Not to mention Siri can't even understand "Get me directions to the nearest gas station". Ivy probably doesn't even drive himself anymore. Not to mention browsing on a mobile is a ****en joke. And I'm a fanboy.
