Doesn't seem practical or professionally designed at all and I'm 100% Apple would not want any part of the icons or screen labels to be distorted by a curve. I can see Apple going to a micro-bezel design to keep physical dimensions from exploding by using a 4.7" display, but not to this extreme.

Looks good but I doubt the glass will curve in that way (flat for most of it and then curved at the edges only) as it will distort text on the sides, making the edge of the screen quite useless. If the glass is curved, it probably should be curved the same way all around (like the iPod Nano that had a curved glass) as it will not distort different parts of the screen in different ways, unless of course the curved part of the glass is part of the bezel.

I liked the previous renderings more, not sure what the value of a curved display really is.

Good lord, I hope those renderings are not accurate. Yuck. Not only does it look bad but the fact that viewing it off-axis distorts the screen edges is a serious negative.

Looks ok to me. I want the phone to be as small as possible, so edge-to-edge glass with no bezel is what I want.

Im with You on the ASmallAP front but what about the top and bottom bazels? Those fugly things needs to go!
I don't give a flying ******* about the fingerprint scanner in the home button to be honest. If the hb is here to stay (for years to come) i will seriously think, that the fp scanner was one of the dumbest Apple ideas :(

What's all the obsession with this Martin Hajek dude? I'm sorry but I think this render is ugly.

A curved screen is the dumbest idea I have ever seen on a smartphone. Especially DUMB in the way it's pictured above.

Doubtful. Because didn't Apple spend all that money on the machines that make those fancy edges on the 5, 5S and iPad Air? It would make financial sense to keep using those for a little bit longer anyway.

With the greatest of respect, are you high?

Apple spend approximately three quarters of a trillion dollars tooling up for each iPhone, and you think the cost of changing a cutter in a CNC machine would be cost prohibitive?

Lol.

what's more usable about curved screen than a normal one? none. apple shouldn't use it.

DISAGREE! This I like!

...except the fact that you can't hold the phone without touching the screen

I like it too, but I'm not sure of the purpose of having part of the screen on the side. Maybe controls or something.

And I'm sure Apple would plan ahead and code something to compensate for fingers touching the edge of the screen, because they've done it before with the iPad Mini.

Funnily enough, I like it more than any of the other renders I've seen. It's different.

I wasn't planning on getting the iPhone 6, but something original like that, I might consider.

i Like

so far that the best looking design i have seen and with rounded corners it will feel nice in the hand like the 3Gs did
