Not very spiffy, besides all that was going on in my head is "oh great, more surface to smear finger/face prints on".

I’m extremely confident we’re not going to see a curved display/glass. I do think it’s going be the curved side/rear casing like has been showing in some rendering and a departure from the straight edged chamfering that’s currently used in the 5 series and the current iPads.

Three quarters of a trillion? $750 BILLION?

I'd like to see a source on that statement.

Dr. Evil.

I'm not liking this at all, maybe its the gold band, but overall it does not have the classic lines that we have come to know and love on the current model

You mean the classic lines of the original iphone, 3G and 3GS? They all had this rounded corners and I loved it.

The only reason I see this design as plausible is because I think Apple could justify the even larger screen-size despite having turned it down in the past due to the thumb's reach.

From the rumours I see a watch bevel replacing the diamond bevel on the current model and iPad Air styled back. The long edge will be almost bevel-less in design, iPad Air buttons and slightly slimmed top and bottom chin on a 4.7 inch display.

If I could do 3D renders I reckon I could get closer to the actual design myself than any of these renders I've seen.

They should curve the display at the top so so you could just look into your pocket and see if you have any notifications. Just like pagers back in the early 90s used to have. Thatd be cool.

no way apple would make the screen go out on the edges like that. It doesnt serve any purpose and it doesnt help the design at all. Samsung could make something pointless like that, not apple.

The shrinking of the side bezels is not the problem. I had a LG G2 for a week and the smaller side bezels did not offend me. It's the curve that's leading off the sides.

1. Does not look right.
2. Cases are going to have a hard time fitting.
3. I love glass screen protectors.

Thin side bezels are great. It's non existing bezels that I was saying seem wrong. And if apple does go with sapphire on the face, screen protection will not be needed.

Bad size and ugly design. If this is true, I'm keeping my 5s to is end; the last great iPhone!

I understand that, for some iPhone users, a bigger size is better. For the ones that have an iPad, is redundant increasing the iPhone size.

MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air = I have the MacBook Air
iPad Air vs iPad mini = I have the iPad mini

For me, that portability is the most important aspect on a mobile equipment, smaller is better.

They could develop a big iPhone and a "super" small one... both could be successful in sales.

You know, all the naysayers will be rushing out to get this phone the same way they do every time. Just generally a lot of pent up angry people I guess.

Looks pretty cool to me. I'd like a form factor consistent with the iPad Air and possibly the thinness.

This is actually what I thought it would look like more or less. Apple will want to solve some of the complaints about larger phones - and this will be a selling point:

Rounding off all or most of the edges will make it easier to slip in and out of your pocket, and make it feel smaller when you wrap your hand around it. Third, the 'back' gesture will feel more fluid. I hope it's real.

Beautiful, I really like this. Rounded does not mean more slippery, it means 'fits in the hand better'. Fingers crossed, this looks really nicely organic and a step forwards. A lot of engineering challenges for Jony et al though!

We are apparently in the minority, but I agree. The good news is that, if history is anything to go by in these forums, everyone else here will love it too IF Apple releases something like this rendering. But we liked it first....

....crap, I suddenly feel the urge to grow a beard, put on some skinny jeans, and hang out at Starbucks. :D

With the greatest of respect, are you high?

Apple spend approximately three quarters of a trillion dollars tooling up for each iPhone, and you think the cost of changing a cutter in a CNC machine would be cost prohibitive?

Lol.

750 Billion dollars for tooling?

With the greatest of respect, are you high?

Divide that by the millions of iPhones sold and you'll see that you need a math refresher class pronto!

(Example: 60 million iPhones that's $ 12,500 per iPhone.)

I am sure Apple makes up for those losses with volume,

I still do not fully understand the reasoning behind a curved display. Maybe I can understand a concave one, but not a convex.

That has to be the most disgusting iPhone concept I've ever seen. Ever. I swear, on all things worth swearing on, if Apple makes anything remotely like that, I will quit. I will just leave Apple forever.

This, on the other hand, is a completely acceptable, and even good looking, concept containing many of the rumors about the 6. I'd buy this one, but not the iPhone this thread is on.
