What the heck is Apple doing? This shouldn't even be an iPhone 7. At best a 6ss. No new body. Same led screen. Just one more Gb of ram. No wireless charging. It's an insult to us. Samsung is taking over. People are switching because the iPhone is lagging behind in all aspects. Loyalty has its limits.

I like the bigger screen, but 4.7" is about as large as i would go. When i see the 5.5" getting the best items, it makes the 4.7" feel like last years model at launch. Im not paying for a last year model. I normally update at every non-s model, but keep this up and it will be every 3-4th model, because the hype to drive me was already killed by making it subpar.

I'm sure the 7 Plus will have its separation of features as they have in the past, but A lot of iPhone users don't won't to lug around a 5.5 inch phone I know some appreciate the larger size, but If it doesn't have 'Upsell' features, then I feels many will stick with the 6/6S Plus.

And is Apple charging a higher premium for these proposed "Features."

Except the 6s is not selling well, and pushing more of the same doesn't sound like a winning strategy.
Consumers are not stupid. They expect an Apple product to be the best, not almost as good as last years Samsung, except with huge honking bezels all around making humongously ridicoulous for a flagship.

Love the term "honking bezels" lol. You're right consumers aren't stupid. Apples cult like fanboys are though.

I know this is flying in the face of what Apple wants but couldn't they make the phone thicker by 1mm or 2mm to get rid of the ugly bump ? (Having said that, the bump looks better with the chrome ring round it rather than the back face rising up to the camera)

Could it look like this??

can't they get ride of that home botton already. thing is a eye sore
For what it is, it looks pretty nice. Plus getting rid of it means you're going to have to figure out a way to get touch ID to work without a hardware button.

Don't be ridiculous. That thing has a black frame. Apple only does gray.

Really guys? You can't really believe this?

Look at the picture closely. Troubling different between the camera and the TouchID placement on both devices. Touch ID in the middle of the curve? iSight Camera in the curve as well? Both products show those elements at different places? bezels are too round as well.

A child did this drawing...

I WISH the iPhone 7 would look like this - actual black frame with black glass back ala 4/4S which IMO looks way better than space grey

I do think this is what will happen.

If that is the case, I'm done with Apple. Why not just give both the phones the same features while the later only has the advantage of a bigger screen and battery?

It needs the bigger battery for the bigger screen, plus it has room for it.
It probably also has room for the larger camera.

iPad Pro differences:
  • Larger iPad Pro has larger battery, and more RAM (did it get larger/differnt speakers?).
  • Smaller iPad Pro has True Tone display, 12MP camera (vs. 8MP), different aperture and 4k.
  • So they aren't afraid to differentiate what the lines need.
I'm sure there are more too.

Gary

Nothing exciting, are they trying to lower the stocks value as low as they can in 2016?

Ok guys and gals I see what is going to happen. In the upcoming September keynote Tim Cook will come up on stage and brag about how the iPhone 6 and 6Plus were the best selling phone in company history. Then he will introduce the new iPhone by saying " Let me introduce the new member of the iPhone 6 family" then he shows us the unveil video. Afterwards he will say " Here are the new iPhones! The iPhone 6 SE and IPhone 6 Pro." So yeah let's stop calling this phone the iPhone 7 and 7 Pro. Lol!!!

Yeah sounds like this is possible.
They should downplay it by calling it another 6 and not anything more. A nice spec upgrade, but also a mere placemat until next years is ready to roll out.

The sad part is that I feel that im 100 percent right on this simply because those names are so underwhelming yet it will make complete sense.

Well not really "sad", but effectively the truth of the situation.
Whatever the reason, the fact seems to be that the next iteration of the iPhone was not ready to roll by this September, and they needed a plan b to make due.

For me, the "sad" part is that an undewhelming and ugly product such as the iPhone 6 was allowed to ship in the first place. It's always about the product and it's the sole reason Apple failed to meet sales expectations this last few quarters.

Exactly right! Apple did plan to release the OLED iPhone 7 but due to either production issues or in the most likely case they made a deal with a supplier of OLED that won't be in effect until another year they had no choice but to release another 6. Personally the iPhone 6 design is my favorite of them all. I do plan on getting the 6 Pro since I am currently a 6+ user.

Well I think you are in the vast minority in thinking it's the best design, but kudos.

Lol! I know! But yeah I do like the 6 design. So in a way I'm hyped about this new 6 model but at the same time bummed out because I was hoping for the iPhone 7 this year.
