When the 6/6S came out I also thought, no... knew, that those antennae lines were horrible. Recently I got the 6S 4.7in gold, and I like the design and its feel. It's cleaner and manufactured to high tolerances. Prefer it over the upgraded 4S. So, if the 7 is similar with upgraded internals, its fine with me.

I know Apple is going all out for the iPhone 8 10th anniversary model, so there is absolutely no point in wasting a unique design this year. If I was CEO of Apple I would do the same.

I have a feeling its fake. The model number doesn't make sense.

On the last image if you zoom in (its a bit blurry) but it looks like its says A1524. That can't be right as thats a model number for the iPhone 6 Plus.

Also if you go to the original article on nowhereelse.fr and look at the image of the 'leaked iPhone 7' the model number is A1524.

Second it's a fake. A good copy but definitely a fake iPhone 7.

The camera bump is slightly better over the 6/6s and I think I prefer the antenna lines where they are but I'm definitely not sold on the loss of 3.5mm should the rumours prove true in just over a few weeks' time.

Having said that haven't Lenovo Motorola ditched the jack on one of their recent models in favour of USB-C?

We've reached a point where upgrading cycles are going to take longer than before. That's not a secret.
It doesn't matter if it's Android or iOS: smartphone penetration in major markets has already reached a peak so people doesn't have to upgrade their devices as frequently.
Apple seems to be ready for that, by extending the life of the current industrial design a third year with minor visual tweaks but, for sure, important performance improvements.
They can save the costs of producing a new design to compensate for the decline of sales while holding major design changes for another year and thus set the pace for a new, longer upgrading cycle for the iPhone, more similar to iPads or Macs.
I think this strategy will save Apple a lot of money while other companies might try to eat their piece of the pie by presenting new models each year-ish, losing lots money in the attempt because, again, people won't upgrade their perfectly fine 2+ years old high-end phone only because it has a new form factor. This isn't going to make the investment worth it anymore (unless you're rich, of course).

i just know that i won't buy a new iphone with that ugly old pricy design
(i won't buy a Galaxy S7 either,no ios and pricy)and i'll rather shift to a less expensive Android as phone, then for laptops i'll buy a refurbished one or a second hand one,i think Cook here is missing the point but frankly i'm not anymore interested ,they,in my opinion, took too long,ok maybe the economy just saturated but...its not anymore "one more thing" age...just the "same thing period enlonged"

Go coach an icehockey team and tell them to stop scoring, in the hope the competition will slow down its efforts accordingly and the supporters hardly take care anyway. Bet you'll change the world.

Uninspired, boring, stupid. Apple proves in a very sad way that it has completely lost its passion and ability for great product design. Or, even worse, they stopped caring and just want to save some money by reducing costs for new design development, parts (silver bezel camera, headphone jack, maybe mute switch...) Either way, this is a disaster.

The Realist : "This is the same design from years ago! They can't get away with it for another year, surely. Who in their right mind would pay a top whack price for what is really incremental changes to the existing model?"

The Appleist: Classic design never ages. And the iPhone 7 certainly looks classic to me. 2007 classic in fact. Now. Be silent. Tell me no more. I've not seen it. I have no idea what it does or doesn't do. Just take my money.

The moral of the tale. You really can please all of the people all of the time. :D

But if Apple can't be bothered to try with this year's model then why should consumers be bothered to buy it? If you don't take pride in what you do then no-one else will.

Can't wait for Project Ara next year. Probably might end up being vaporware like Google Glass was. If Apple picked up that project, then it would sell. Closer to what an eyePhone is if Apple refined what Google Glass was.

If Apple was a little more open to customizing... :)

Moto-Maker-Sprint-leak.jpg

Not just four color options where 2 or 3 out the 4 is a sissy color option to a grown man. Rose gold? LOL! Pipe dreams if Apple ever decided to customize the iPhone rears like what Motorola and OnePlus did. But hey, you can still engrave the backs of iPods and iPads! More options in color, material used, and sizes, less complaining if it is too big, too small, ugly, glass back, etc.

The iPhone 7 might be the last to use an aluminum back until 2020. Too bad we can't choose to change the white lines to black. Moto Maker is so ahead of the game in ergonomics and style for true phone connoisseurs and fashionistas. While iPhone users enjoy the same phone everyone else has with the only differentiator is putting some ugly case over it which attracts dust, wears out, and adds bulk to it.

A new video and images posted to Chinese microblogging site Weibo and picked up this morning by NWE offer a side-by-side comparison of an iPhone 7 casing against Apple's current flagship iPhone 6s.

iphone-7-vs-iphone-6s-00-800x600.jpg

Embedded below, the new video runs to over two and a half minutes and gives a much better idea of the prospective design than last week's seven-second clip.

Whatever the origin of the assembled 4.7-inch iPhone 7 unit, it matches the Space Grey of the iPhone 6s, and features the larger camera and repositioned antenna bands seen in previous images and alleged design leaks. It also clearly shows a lack of headphone jack, with a second speaker grille alongside the Lightning port where it used to be.

The model comparison offers an idea of the relative size of the new camera lens and the surrounding bezel that protrudes from the body of the phone. The video and images also line up with previous rumors suggesting the iPhone 7 will retain the dimensions of the iPhone 6s.

Does no one find it weird that the mute button is back all of a sudden?

Apple fears this makes logistics/inventory far more complicated and I am afraid I can support that notion.
For colors in dull ages look at: https://dbrand.com/shop/iphone-6s (I have no interests)

disgusting and horrible looking. apple need to get someone new to design the iphones. Ive has lost it.

Welcome to the most competitive area in consumer technology..
Where Samsung and the likes will wash your head off with foldable screens, nanotechnology, unbreakable housing, far better batteries, next gen OLED, and camera's as they already have.
But let's keep confidence in our 3 musketeers of boredom:
Joni ("cannot design anymore") doesn't need to deliver, as Eddy ("no content deals") has nothing to play and Phil ("sell the same audience 3x the same design") rather innovates his ass...
OLED is reportedly coming in next year's iPhone. I am not aware of better batteries, merely larger ones. Foldable screens have a way to go before becoming viable as a consumer tech, which means that even if Apple does implement them, it will be years away when the tech is more mature.

Why do so many people care what a phone looks like vs. what it does. How shallow can you be - so if it did everything you ever wanted but wasn't beautiful because the camera sticks out you would think it was bad. What a shame. Do you folks wear it around your neck so people can see how pretty it is or other than using it sits in a case in a pocket or purse, etc.
Does it do what you want it to do. How about looking pretty but not functioning - I think you folks would prefer that.
Do you even know about the meaning of design in apples history?

Well in that case, Apple should make a phone with removable battery too.
Not sure if I make that connection, but hey. Just give me a bigger battery that can easily last a full day and I'd be happy. I think that this will actually be happening this year; more efficient A10 + new/bigger better = 2 days (or one big day)

The bigger camera makes me wish it were centered like every other modern phone in existence, but Apple gotta' have its logo I guess.
These are not mutually exclusive. They can place their logo under the camera nipple.

That's the attitude.

Out of interest, how do you think Apple gained so much popularity over the last decade or so? Was it through their software and internals of the *cough* "powerhouse" iMacs and Macbooks? Or perhaps was it because of their amazing design and execution? The fact they're in every TV program/film - would that be the case if they just had great internals in a standard looking PC tower + monitor? Do you think the iPhone would have catapulted Apple to the lofty heights they're at now if it looked like a generic Blackberry or Nokia?

You praise the internals yet iOS has been less and less reliable over recent years, so many bug fixing updates, you can "SMH" all you like but it's true.

I argue Apple's case all the time on other sites despite the constant "sheep" abuse but then I come back here and realise maybe I'm fighting the wrong corner because so many really will just buy any old crap with an Apple logo it seems. So now design isn't important to Apple followers... What's next? Reliability not important? Price not important? Nothing actually important as long as it has the Apple logo?

You are correct. Apple is popular because they do pay attention to form as well as function. But it seems most people here fuss of silly cosmetic stuff. "Oh my God! The camera opening is 1mm to the left.... The world is going to end!"

Wait to find out WHY the camera opening is larger. Or why the antenna bands were moved etc.... Before going off on a rant.

I for one am expecting better internals and reasons why the camera opening is larger. I guarantee if we learn that these changes brings better performance. All the whiners here will sing a different tune.

OK. No more future iPhone. Once my current one breaks, I will use iPad to listen to music.
Hard time begins, starting from today.
Apple has made my life much harder already by disallowing users to switch countries without providing credit card info.
Count down on leaving Apple.
Reason: No 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Where Apple got it right in design is by removing this archaic feature at the front...

How-To-Fix-Unresponsive-Home-Button.png

That annoying Assistive Touch can now be turned off at all times. I could care less what it looks like at the back. Is the back of the phone the area we look at? The camera might have a hump but at least protected by sapphire crystal glass. It isn't like the HTC One M8's camera which was prone to scratches. Removing the physical home button is a perfect example of addition by subtraction. The one example where I like to see Apple copy Android.

Do you want your car looks cool? Do you not like cool stuff.

If we just looking function over how it looks, cheap Android phone will do for most people.
I would say exactly the opposite: If one wants a cool-looking phone that doesn't work well, an Android phone will do that job.
