My favorite material used for the rear is faux leather back like the BlackBerry Bold 9000. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Asus Zenfone Max also used it and it feels nice. Easy to remove the back.

Even metal isn't indestructible...

It is still safe to say the iPhone SE is the best iPhone inside/out. But while the 5s design outclasses the 6 series and 7, appearance isn't considered a feature. In fact, being homely has its advantages. Less anxiety or stress treating it like some precious baby. Practicality over design any day. Just wished Apple used black lines like HTC did for the M8 especially if the space black option will never happen. But oh well, you can't have it all. Then again, do any of us have our phone flipped over most of the time to stare at the back? No.

The iPhone 6 series is still more comfortable to hold than the 4 & 5 series. The rounded sides don't dig into my palm like the boxy 4 and 5 did. Similar to my Mi 3 where I enjoy reading my e-books on it and typing. I don't think the iPhone 6/7 series design will be appreciated until next year when we start seeing broken shards again for the 8 even if the 8 ends up the prettier design.

apple's marketing team in action again - where do they find these chaps that do the videos, very clever though.

I do hope Eddie Cue takes over the key note for the iPhone from phil.schiller 'this is our most advanced iPhone yet' is wearing thin plus I think Eddie is much better, and a more believable spokesperson for apple.
#PhilIsTooBrash.

I'm starting to think the phone in this video is a fake. The very intentional way he flips it over to show the screen is very different from the natural way he shows us the screen of the iPhone 6S. Also, he turns the screen on and off on the 6S to show us the display, but the screen is already on on the 7, and he never touches it or turns it off.

Also, as other people have pointed out, the lightning connector does look bigger, but that could just be darker.

Yep! The Apple logo also doesn't fit quite well with the surrounding back. Compare the flashes! One is flush with the back the other is recessed. The power button stands out more and looks like plastic. Black USB-C port?

Eddie is epiphany of honesty and if you are selling something that is #1.
Phil is a bit of a 'wide boy' done good.
Fair play I like phil he makes me laugh, but he should not be apple's 'shop front' for apples best selling product, going forward.

The people I know that own an iPhone don't have a case; so I'm always bewildered when I read this statement. Is there any statistics that has been researched about this alleged majority of iPhone owners putting their iPhones in cases and put in an article?

I clearly notice more people rocking a case than naked, from my job to the gym and the mall.

for both iPhone 7 and 7 plus?

Wow, that bump looks horrible, hopefully, its only because its a mock up and not the actual phone.

If this is one of the final renditions of the iPhone 7, is that camera bump really going to deter you from buying/upgrading in the future if this phone is due to the camera bump, even though you have the SE (Which is a great phone)? I agree it's not appealing, but the camera bump obsessiveness comments are to point where they are shaming the Phone to another level. I can look past cosmetic features and appreciate other features. Either way, I will upgrade in September and looking forward to the Key Note.

Why do so many people care what a phone looks like vs. what it does. How shallow can you be - so if it did everything you ever wanted but wasn't beautiful because the camera sticks out you would think it was bad. What a shame. Do you folks wear it around your neck so people can see how pretty it is or other than using it sits in a case in a pocket or purse, etc.
Does it do what you want it to do. How about looking pretty but not functioning - I think you folks would prefer that.

In just about every other area of our lives, we care about how things look. A typical person's living room furniture was not purchased for exclusively for comfort; instead it was purchased to look good and match the rest of the room. Our clothes are purchased largely based on how they look. Most people value how their car looks in they can afford a nice car. Good or not, most people look for a mate based on large part on looks.

A few things about the video that make me think the unit is a knockoff/fake:
1) that plastic sheet s certainly not the protector Apple puts on their phones. I don't know about preproduction runs but at least that's not a protector any consumer would ever see.
2)He doesn't appear to click any buttons but the screen is on and it appears very "flat" an has a lot of color saturation. Compare that with the real 6+ he shows that appears washed out and the saturation changes with angle while the prototype phone shows no color shift with angle change. I COULD be the next iPhone screen is really that good, but it looked more like a printout than an LCD screen to me.
3) The home screen appears static. Even with Mr. Blurrycam I think we'd see the parallax effect at least a little on the video.

Not saying it isn't a real next iPhone but it seems "off" in some very suspicious ways. It wouldn't take much work with a 3d printer and some paint/decals to make such a thing in a few days. Add in in the suspiciously low-res and it just doesn't add up for me.

i understand some chinese and the guy in the video is saying: “ steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this, steve jobs never would have approved this..."

Maybe I am one of the few outcasts here. But I am looking forward to this iPhone in September. I would welcome other features and I can look past cosmetic changes. Possibilities with a larger battery, stereo speakers, waterproofing, flush home button with Taptic feedback, camera upgrades, A10/M10 Processors and of course, iOS 10.

And that's only what is rumored. Apple usually has another feature which has not been exposed until the Key Note. There has to be someone else excited on Macrumors besides me.
