Let's be hones, the last iphone with great design was 5s. 6/6s/7 and as it looks right now, the 8, all have ****** and average design.

I think what's going to happen is that they will keep the home button on the back BUT they will also have touchID built into the screen in front somewhere. If you are in an app, and need to quit, where are you going to press if the front is bezel-less? Certainly no where on the screen where presumably there are app buttons. That functionality of a home button will be put on the back (hopefully integrated with the logo). The unlock functionality of the touch-id will be kept in the front as well as the back I imagine.

I wish Jony Ive would come back and design again.

He is the Chief Design Officer currently. And if you're referring to this current Leaked phone purportedly resembling an iPhone, there's no legitimacy behind this, which doesn't mean he can't design based one's appreciations. Not everyone will approve of the current iPhone design, no matter who designs it.

front or back, it does feel the same, but ugly as hell lol, this company need a new design team...

That looks like the Galaxy S8 from the front and the Google Pixel from the back.

If this is what the iPhone ends up looking like, Apple really have run out of steam.

This is the worst-looking of the possible prototypes I've seen. With that said, I'd still buy it if it had wireless charging, OLED screen, and a few more killer features.
You'd still buy it if it didn't have wireless charging, OLED screen nor any more killer features. Like the majority of iPhone users, I suspect you moan about it and then march out and buy one.

Just like those who childishly complain about a "Fugly" camera bump or the whiny rants about the Touch ID placement. Then, I see those the same members on here Post "Well...I will still buy it." It's like they are trying convince themselves why they don't want the iPhone, but they really do, they just want to complain, hoping and thinking Apple is monitoring a Macrumors forum. It's rather humorous.

That and the iPhone 4s are still one of my favorite designs.

The home button on the back is so close to the Apple logo that if the home button were to be moved to the back then i'd imagine in the final product the Apple logo will become the home/touch id button.

But overall, the design will take some getting used to. Not sure everyone will be leaping for their wallet.

While I prefer the fingerprint sensor on the back I just can't see Apple getting rid of the round home button.

I don't believe Apple will get rid of the round home button altogether this year. It's either going to remain on the front or be placed on the back. I don't believe the technology for embedding the home button under the display will be ready for this year. At least with the yield concerns regarding with the company Synaptics.

it looks better than the iphone 7 but still way too much bezel. what a joke apple for goodness sake. i wont be buying that.

Naaat - all glass body. Finger prints kill me as it is.

Though, edge to edge display, new camera and the removal of the button to me is pretty sexual. I'll still hold onto my 6s though. If iPhone 6 and 'New MacBook Pro' is anything to go by; they'll have quality control issues with 8.

Like what? What is the worst Apple product that people still buy?

Well,, without parts leaked, i guess the rumor mill would have to churn and say "Well, u we gotta give us something"..

Then again, i bet all actual leaks flood at the very last minute :) That would be a surprise. Similar to dumping a load of water on ya.... You'd be saturated in minutes.

I have read the original source, and these are early "clones" of the iphone 8 , based on the early leaks.
No way this will be the original design, the other design and dummy around the web is the real iphone 8.

The home button will be a virtual button on the front in the same spot.
Still makes no sense. If there's space for a virtual button, then there's no reason to move TouchID to the back. And if you're talking about a virtual button on the screen itself, then how would that work with full screen apps? There has to be a dedicated space for a home button.

For me, having a TouchID on the backside is not an Apple Product! Apple can do better than that!
My favorite rendered picture of what Apple should do with iPhone 8 is this:

All we can do is to wait and see (perhaps it occurs at WWDC 2017)

I'm still not buying Touch ID on the back. It's just not ergonomic, and it doesn't seem like something Apple would do. Obviously I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

How would that even work as a home button? Pushing against the back with your index just wouldn't work. The thumb works because you're pushing the phone against your palm.
It wouldn't work as a home button - home button would be a touch screen button in a similar place to where it is now. Back 'button' would be purely for Touch ID

Looking at these mock ups... why would Apple not make the Apple symbol the fingerprint reader?

Wow looks like a Samsung phone. Touch ID on the back and everything. May as well just the Samsung model.

The S8 looks sooo much better than this mock up. I would be shocked if the iPhone 8 looks this boring.

oh, the clones have returned.

I think that's a great idea, but its not on the front.

If the Home button "was" the Apple "button" logo, that may be better
