The video was shot in the visitors centre and her dad having the iPhone X isn’t an issue as it’s after Apple’s keynote event and no longer a surprise, other images of people using the IPhone X started to appear online days after Apple’s keynote.
Apple holds its brand as upmost importance and they curtail their message accordingly. This haphazard video diminishes their image and I highly doubt this followed traditional internal communication channels. This will most definitely be frowned on by internal Apple constituents.

FaceID appears to have worked well when he paid with it... nice looking phone though i still i cant see how exactly it justifies a price of 1150€+...
Don't forget that if you come to like the form factor and capacity you're looking at repeating that price ~every 2 years.

Pah! Pennies!

iPhone is for everyone, because there are entry models after all, no? Just wait for all these features to trickle down!

Wow, I really miss the simpler days when iPhones had three "new" prices and that was it.

@Thread: Really doubt this video wasn't approved by Apple.

Glassed Silver:ios

What the hell is this UI? So the flashlight and camera buttons are just going to obstruct notifications?

This video was recorded in September. Could be a bug in the Software.

PSA: skip to 3:09 if you don't want to watch a teen shopping for girly stuff. Also turn off the sound.

Obviously PR move. Nothing rogue going on here.

Really hope her dad isn’t fired over this. Apple won’t even let people mess with Smart Cases early, let alone the new iPhone.

this is not how Apple markets their products. period.
You do realize that Apple is currently in a strange situation, where the iphone 8's dont sell well and they still dont know how many people will actually decide to buy the X? I think they deliberately went down this route to build up the hype for the phone, if there is any of course.

Obviously PR move. Nothing rogue going on here. Also did Apple bring over the old furniture from Infiniti Loop? If not then Steve Jobs did not sit in any of those tables. A bit of fake facts there.
That is Infinite Loop, lol.

Thank you for being outraged on behalf of Apple. By the way, can you list the internal Apple constituents you represent, as well as their actual opinions? I'm sure they can speak for themselves, but still...

Right, and her dad didn't realize that when he let his daughter record herself using the X while answering her questions in the middle of the Apple cafeteria and allowing himself to be on the video. C'mon, think people. Think.

What's the difference between this video and other videos where people were able to play with the iPhone X after the iPhone event? Engadget has a video up from 9/12 where they have a hands on with it.
that was an Apple approved event at Apple Park...No media has access to the iPhone X outside of the keynote event itself.

Somebody doesn't work at Apple anymore. :D
Really? Because I think someone was told to build hype for and market the iPhone X. I think it was pretty obvious. She even corrects how to pronounce it ("not ten"... why would she care...?), carefully shows the main features distinguishing it from the iPhone 8, how to work around the lack of home button with gestures... On the Apple campus... I mean come on.

If this isn't removed, it's marketing. If Apple would dislike an iPhone X prelaunch video they'll descend upon it like hawks.
