It is the server deals and the security issue with them.

Okay, that sounds like a crap excuse.

Australia's music laws are tight but if it was a server issue, I am sure Apple would have solved it by now. Especially now that there are 2 or more music stores already operating in Australia. Also if need be, I am sure Apple Australia in Sydney could have the servers in their building.

I am sure you are upset. But this is what is going on. The government wants secure servers and the deals with them have stalled. They are taking a zero tollerance approach.

Could very well be the prepay is the excuse. But thats what was told

yeah, probably they Swiss store will be prepaid only. They probably don't trust us with our credit cards. After all, Switzerland hasn't had much experience dealing with money at all 🙂 (just kidding - the prepaid thing would make sense, but running a prepaid-only shop would be insane. I'm definitely not running to a kiosk everytime I wanna buy something on iTMS...)

is it me or is there a load of newbies that have joind here in the past day ? strange? maybe apple spy's hehe

Apple would NEVER update their web-pages to give any hints before the announcements. Never!

Actually, Apple did update accidentally their web store before the release of the G5. All the specs were shown for the models. Needless to say, the guy who messed up was promptly fired 🙁

Sorry, but if there was an issue to do with secure servers, I am sure that Apple would have sorted it out.

Anyway, isn't the iTMS secure? Also, sites like NineMSN music are not secure from the front.

Can someone try to load the Japan Apple page?...I still can't, and cannot load the Music Store at all. I hope this is good news.

that makes sense...the Windows servers the other music stores here are running on are heaps more secure....

Where does the government come into it??? I would have thought it would be the music providers who would demand security. What's the government care?

You can't win you know. If you are wrong we're gunna call you a fool...and if you're right, we're gunna hate you for spoiling things for us. No one wants to hear bad news until they have to.

Steve get's paid a lot more than you to be the bearer of bad news. Let him do it.

Both work fine for me. I just can't understand the bulk of the writing on the page.

I can load it. It has something on the iPod's store page that looks kinda like the iTMS stuff but as I don't have a Japanese font on my computer let alone the lack of reading Japanese in the first place (should have kept learning it after Primary School).

it.

Windows servers secure? Does Bigpond use Windows for it's servers?

Anyway, as secure as something seems, someone will crack it.

I don't see how the government cares especially how Howard gotthe FTA with the US. APRA is the one who would be at fault 🙂

T minus 2 hours 45 minutes and I have to go to class until 2. The funs starts for me at noon and I'm starting to roll over in my head if going to World Lit is that good of an idea. I'm of course leaning towards "no."

*sigh* Well, the fun will being soon. Then we can speculate on MWSF and if there will be any releases prior to MWSF (I say eMacs and XServes could happen before it with XServes being the 2.3 models Virginia has, release those when the supercomputer list is out as part of a promotion "Now you too can own the same computer as the #3 supercomputer." Something like that.)

dunno. just guessing - but making the point that as long as it's not a Windows server, security would be as good as there is.

i'm starting to worry he's right tho... the lack of iTMS integration being mentioned on the store worries me. Pity for Apple, coz iTMS Oz would be the thing to tip me over into buying an iPod.

How do i get my pic under my name?

Sorry to say, but this makes me even more skeptical.

I am sure a true Apple employee wouldn't be that childish to want an avatar (I don't even want one until that magic day that I do get 500+ posts (won't happen for ages))

Maybe Apple Switzerland and Swisscom are doing a deal together: Pay your iTMS songs with Easyp@y. Who knows?
Hopefully not, though.
