Jep. I did. Tried a few cables. Cleaned it with toothpick and those ear thingies. Nothing help.s
also, It doesn't load on the computer at all. only direct charging
My SE died in a similar way last year. Took it to Apple Store and they said the pins in the socket were damaged. I suspect this was from metal fatigue and my use of a Belkin drop-in dock (that probably put strain on the socket). I was holding out for the rumoured new SE but ended up with an iPhone 8.
P.S. Its Sunday in Australia and no sign of an SE on the Australian Apple website - which doesn't surprise me.

Here in the UK 🇬🇧 we are in lockdown, but it could get a lot more stricter. Warehouse people are probably feeling the strain and so are delivery drivers, I do wonder if a new phone putting more pressure at this time on logistics might be seen in bad taste especially as a new launch of a phone isn’t really seen as essential at the moment.

Completely off topic:
Nice avatar dude, big Electro fan myself.......👍
Have every album on vinyl.

Why? The world isn’t going to stop because the UK is in lockdown.

also, this is the first time I've heard it could have a 256GB model, and that has me so stoked. It's the only thing I was wishing (from these rumors) that it didn't have. Here's hoping prices are $399, $450 (for 128GB) and $500 for 256GB. With a trade in for my iPhone 6S+ i'll be stoked. And it eliminates my need for a second music only player :)

I had posted here long back that the base would be 64 GB and that a 256 GB model was likely.

Here is more for you.

If base 64 GB is 399. 128 GB will be 449. And 256 GB will be 549.

I think the rumor is that the 5.4 is a 12, not a 12 pro.

Yes. 5.4 will be a 12. Not Pro. It won’t come with 6 GB RAM either. Just 4.

There are people who believe that iphones are a luxury status symbol. Besides cost and luxury aren't the same thing.
Haha, yeah, whatever happened to the guy - the proudly self proclaimed 'multimillionaire' who thought iPhones and Audis were status symbols and Rolex was the last word in luxury Swiss watches? Always good for a chortle that one 😂😂

The Pros will get 6 GB. Not the regular 12. You’ll see when it happens.

See when it happens? Dude, there is no point having different amounts of RAM in iPhone 12 lineup. Why would you want that which does not make sense and every iPhone 11 model used the same quantity of RAM!

Most of the world has pretty much stopped for the time being....and resources will have to be used sparingly, so the launch/distribution of a new phone might be seen low priority for a while.

China seems to be ramping up. Every business wants to do what it can within the limitations of where we all are, so they can survive. What’s low priorities for you may not be for another.

I think people’s finances is pretty high on their priorities

I just think at this present moment it might not be the right time to release a new phone budget or not.

To differentiate the Pro. To allow high-end features on the Pro that require more RAM. Etc.

Pretty easy to answer?

That’s a straw man argument. Seems like the rumored iPhone 9 is wanted and needed by some people, so maybe it is the right time to release a new phone.

I really don't think a company that just released a $299 keyboard + trackpad combo is very concerned if "it's the right time to release a new phone".

When it comes to smartphones, there is a very insignificant reason to do call it a pro model because the customers are not buying it as the main computing device for content creation. The developer wants to let its app to sell on more device without the concern of incompatible due to inadequate RAM. As usual, Apple will continue to provide the same amount of RAM in every model of the iPhone 12.

That's mostly true (photographers might beg to differ), but Apple has decided to make an iPhone Pro brand regardless, and I'm guessing enough people are buying it that they'll keep it.

At this point, that's only relevant for edge cases of apps, like high-end games. Most apps don't use anywhere near as much. Facebook ~90, Overcast and Word ~120, Maps ~150.

Given that a global recession is now upon us, this could be the phone which saves Apple!

And where is it?

There isn't much point of releasing the iPhone 8s with only improvement in CPU speed because most people already upgrade beyond 6,6s, 7 unless Apple significantly offers comparable improvements like changes to OLED in the original SE Form Factor.

Not exactly, there are AR application and newer app tend to used up more RAM for expanding its functionality.

You realize the iPhone SE was mostly a 5S with the 6S's CPU (and some of its camera)? Was there "not much point" to that either?

So your answer to "most apps barely even use an eighth of a GiB, let alone multiple GiBs" is "yeah, but some do"? OK.
