Would love to have that for my MacBookPro - but if it connects with the Secure Enclave on the M1 (like they said) - no chance

These look great, number pad version has my eye. If they are compatible with other Mac models, Apple won't be able to make them fast enough (which applies to just about everything they were rolling out today).

Closest thing to getting TouchID on 2019 iMac 27" is wearing an Apple Watch. Really wish the numeric keyboard with Touch ID would be backwards compatible. Probably on this machine for another 4-5 years before revisiting the options.

I remember when people were insistent this was impossible, because the T1 needed a physical connection for ??reasons??

I would have loved space gray.
You will need to pay $1,000 more for space gray. That color is now only reserved for apples highest paying customers. Why they can't add it considering you can get space gray on a macbook air, is beyond me other than it would outsell all the others when they get tired of the pastel colors.

The new keyboards are not sold separately, they can currently only be purchased with a new M1 iMac. So don’t hold your breath regarding its compatibility with any other devices.

Why on earth did they go back to arrow keys with the larger left and right arrows? I’m using an old wired apple keyboard in order to match my 2020 MBP keyboard (after trying the 2017 MBP keyboard and being surprised later to learn how bad it is).

Apple bluetooth mouse and keyboard just do not work with M1 Macs... so presumably they've managed to fix the Bluetooth issues finally???
