Love the new possibilities these new chips bring, but.....capped at 16GB, and only 2 ports on the laptops? Would have hoped for at least 32GB and keeping the 4 ports on the MBP.

So which to update first, the mid 2011 mac mini or the late 2013 MacBook Pro....

and if only I currently had the cash to update either 😤

The old Intel models are still for sale, handy if you need Boot Camp/Windows support (like me) and higher RAM capacity. Shame they didn't lower the price of the outgoing models or update the 16" to 10th-gen Intel CPUs. *sigh*

My god what a boring event for being Mac, lots of bla bla, a massive opportunity to deliver fully redesigned macs with truly bumped hardware. Same old Apple tricks with Timmy over and over.
Why, were you expecting two leaps in a year? Next year a redesign is expected across the lineup.

I wonder if performance will be consistent across the lineup since they all use the same M1 chip, or if the MacBook Pro will have slightly better performance than the Air.

I originally wanted an iMac for my next Mac, but this makes upgrading my 2012 15” rMBP to a MacBook Air or a 13” MacBook Pro a more serious consideration.

it’s got fans of course it’ll be better

There are different GPU core counts. So there are variations of the M1.

Still only 8GB ram as default 🙁 I'm seriously wondering, with todays insane SSD speeds, if I should just stop getting more ram. Maybe it's barely noticable nowadays?
