Yes, the lack of ANY real heat at all coming off the back is very interesting. I have had videos running, a logmein session running, etc., nothing gets warm
 
Well my Slingbox HD is great on this 11".
It didn't even work right on my previous 1.8GHZ Air .

It must be the GPU (and the nice screen)

the screen seems to be good for movies.

we shall see
 
I have one question about the display.

Could you download this pic:

And use Quick Look to view it in fullscreen and then test how bad it gets when you look at it from an angle close to the keyboard, so how fast for eaxmple does the elephant body disappear etc...

On my MBP 15" it gets bad really fast. This is what it looks like at 0°, around 20°, and 45°+

Sorry about the light in the 2nd pic, but it doesn't really matter, just compare the elephant to the left. And at 45° you will notice it gets really weird with inverted colors and all that crap..
 
Anyone in Canada get theirs yet? Mine's BTO, not stock.

I bought it the night of Oct 20...got an email yesterday saying it shipped (!!!), but then realized it was just the Magic Mouse. Grr.

You'll get that with all the MacBook screens. They're all TN panels, not IPS, so the viewing angle isn't that good. Unless you're right in front of it, the colors will look bad / washed out. Not much you can do about it, other than use it in a normal position and then you'll be fine :)

I was wondering if they maybe improved them in the Air since they went IPS on the iPhone and the iPad too... Would have been nice :/

Well, ordered mine on the 20th around 6PM Eastern. This morning, got the shipment notification with tracking number along. Should get it by Monday as per Apple. I'm so eager to get that little puppy! :) Got the 1.6 and 4GB model with EPP discount. Sweet...

Given that the graphics card shares the memory, I would go for the 4GB.

Been there and done that. I understand what your thinking. I think it is different with everyone. I have an i7 15" MacBook Pro sitting on my desk while I use this. I always seem to convince myself to over buy and I just don't need or use the power. For what I do this is a sweet computer. "your mileage may vary":)

In Canada, ordered three BTO's. Two max'd out 13's and one max'd out 11".

Shipped today, delivers Wednesday the 27th, I paid for expedited shipping, that's a longer delivery date that it should be.

Sounds like everyone is really enjoying their new MB Air's ! Great !!
