24Hrs

it is now 24hrs shipping for all the MBA (stock config)in the online orders ...

by the time it reaches apple retail store, you should have plenty of stock (if you live near to retail stores)

MBA looks like hot item, let us see if that sales reflects that, also Apple's One day Thanks giving sales is just a month away, many may be holding out for that also.

dude you are a PITA I said I would post latter it's charging but since you keep bugging me you can wait I have nothing to PROVE to you.

I don't and now will not.

No offense intended but you did claim you had 4 Gigs of RAM so the burden of proof is on you. Of course you could just be lying but it does not matter anyway people will get their BTO Air in due time.

The biggest issue with ordering from Macmall is there is something wrong with it, returns are hell, Apple sends a replacement then you ship the bad one back.

I no longer order from Macmall.

Apple orders are fast ordered the 20th received the 22 standard shipping.

Oh and if you order a stock 11.6 you can get it for 949.00 from Apple.

Just curious...but how can you get it from Apple for that amount? Edu or biz discount?

the guy asked me no less then 5 times, then when i told him i would post then that night he calls me a lier, hey let him keep wondering i will not post it, however if you check the post above another BTO will arrive Monday.think what you will, I am happy and content.

Mine shipped from TN as well. Ordered 13" with 4GB on the 22nd, arriving the 26th.
Thanks for posting that, I think since i was talking to Apple when the store came up, made mine ship quick. I also think Tenn. has a stock of some 4G ones.

Macbook Air 13" 2010 First Impression

I picked up the macbook air 13" 1.86GHz 2GB ram from the Apple store at lakeside yesterday.

I need it as my second/backup laptop with my early 2008 MB Pro 17 2.6ghz being my primary machine.

I was a bit worried that it wouldn't be able to handle what I needed it to do, which is run a windows 7 ultimate parallels vm alongside a browser, coda and skype.

Long story short it handles it with ease, with no lag at all. Infact it runs it a lot better than my mb pro 17.

So first impression is I am loving the MB Air.

Interesting that it runs better than your MBP. I'd prefer benchmarks really because the glow from a new machine is often so bright one does not often see any flaw.

This is very interesting for me :D

What about heat? Any fan noise while doing not too intensive stuff?

@ jessica Funny and true.

What are good benchmarks for these new machines?

No worries. Weird how people don't want to believe you. 2 or 4 or whatever? Nicely played to withhold from them.
My origin scan was Nashville, then onto Chatanooga. I too called directly into the Apple but I waited a day or so to mull over the decision.

Initially setting up the Windows Ultimate VM the fans started whirring although the case didn't feel particularly warm. Apart from that I haven't noticed the fans kicking in at all.

Indeed, though the performance difference is likely due to the MBA's SSD.

Yeah, I am sure about this. My MBP is running with just 2GB RAM at the moment, (due to my 4GB Crucial kit failing yesterday) and it is really really struggling while paging the 5400rpm hard drive.

I know if I was in AppleGoddess' shoes, I'd love to do nothing more than prove me wrong.

Oh well, hard to take a pic of something you don't have.
