2-3 business days is expedited shipping I think?

I am planning on ordering the top specced 13" model, can anyone comment on how Photoshop CS4/5 runs on the new MBA? I am concerned that it might get crazy hot and the fans will go nuts, so I would love if anyone could give some feedback?! Thanks
 
bright white letters?

A question I saw asked elsewhere but not answered...

Comparing a new Air to a MacBook Pro, are the characters on the Air keyboard brighter white than the characters on the MBP with the keyboard back light turned off? Since the characters are transparent on the MBP, they're not very white. Seems they should be whiter on the Air.

Sorry if it's a strange question but with all the complaints about the back lighting, I'm curious.

Yep. Or at least they seemed to me to be when I visited the store earlier this evening. Not a strange question at all.
 
Typing this on brand new MacBook Air 11.6 - and with regard to the keys, the letters and characters are printed in silver on the keys so the light reflects from the screen and illuminates them slightly in the dark, so you are able to make out the keys in low light. I am typing this in bed with just a small side light on. So not missing the BL keys of MBP. It is a lovely machine and so glad I got this one. Its much more portable and I feel I will take this one everywhere.

Thanks. If the key characters are brighter this is a good thing! I've been using my MBP the past couple of days with the key lights turned off to see what I think. It's really not much of an issue.

Given that is soldered you have only one time to chose. You can't upgrade it in the future, go for it.

I caved...

Here I've been trying to talk myself out of the 11.6" MBA and stumbled onto this thread...placed my order last night for the base model-so much for that!

I have a love/hate relationship with my iPad as it is and the minute Steve confirmed the smaller size MBA, the temptation began. The only real way to see which I prefer is to try both...I have a feeling I will be Ebaying my iPad when all is said and done!

I think he means do they ship out over the weekend...in my experience, yes...but every apple computer I've bought so far has shipped from China. I ordered mine last night and it's supposed to ship within 24 hours, so we'll see....right now it's still in the "not yet shipped" stage and estimated delivery is October 25-28. And this is with basic free shipping. Don't see how it could get here as early as Monday, but stranger things have happened, I guess!

you will be I used the ipad as my only mac since launch and was worried it might not feel right with a keyboard, I think mine will be going also, the one thing i will miss is the battery on the ipad.
the screen on the MBA will blow you away and the size is bigger then you think.

Ordered my 11.6 64G 4MB RAM yesterday Oct 22nd at 9a PST with standard free shipping. It says it will deliver between Oct 26 and Nov 1st, but the status has not changed from "Order has not shipped" It will be shipping to me in New England. Will let you know as it changes

The route it normally does is, it goes from China to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Alaska, Alaska to Memphis, Memphis to a place close by you, then closer, and then on van for delivery. And it needs to clear customs in Anchorage.

Should have ordered from MacMall. $979, free overnight shipping and no tax. Will be here on Monday. Apple orders take longer and charge tax :(
 
Mini Display port and Cinema Display

Any one connected their display to Cinema display? any concerns with the mini display port?

Why cannot apple provide Display port (the size increase is negligible right)?

DVI to mini-DVI the port size is bigger, so that makes sense have mini DVI port.

Apple really making lots of money on these $29 mini-Display port to Display port accessory?

The biggest issue with ordering from Macmall is there is something wrong with it, returns are hell, Apple sends a replacement then you ship the bad one back.

I no longer order from Macmall.

Apple orders are fast ordered the 20th received the 22 standard shipping.

Oh and if you order a stock 11.6 you can get it for 949.00 from Apple.
