New top shelf 15" Macbook Pro configuration, late'09 (November):
Gave me a nice laugh (in a good way).

Now, before anybody takes this as real(istic)… (although these specs are awesome)

New CPU: Intel Core i7 Mobile Extreme, 32 nm, 4 cores @ 3.06 Ghz, 12MB L2 cache, 1333 Mhz Bus
"Core i7 Mobile Extreme" doesn't exist and Clarksfield will only go up to 2.0 GHz at 35 W. Even if it was overclocked to 45 W (35 W Penryn equivalent), I highly doubt it will hit anywhere near 3.07 GHz.

New GPU: Dual nVidia GeForce GTX 280M (SLI), 55nm, 1GB GDDR3 x 2
Even more outrageous than the CPU.

New glass / anti-glare display (optional): 1900 x 1200 pixels
I'm actually hoping for this. I think a higher resolution is much needed.

Tell your friend to predict the rumored netbook/mini-tablet. :D

Your friend doesn't seem to be very good at his job. I'm afraid you and your folks are evacuating because of predicted eruption/earthquakes/whatever on a beautiful sunny day.

What? He didn't say anything about the graphics card malfunctioning? Or about Apple not including something that they've always provided in the past?

Must be fake. You to show your friend what happens to false prophets. I'd suggest reading the Old Testament for some good ideas.

I think you're perfectly right. About Snow Leopard in November. How is weather on the Earth B today, by the way?

leaked is not the same as wish list.

:mad::mad:

There is no way that machine will be $2,000. Perhaps $2,799. The 17Inch will easily be north of $3,200.

I know that Apple is trying to compete with the Windows market, but unless they decide to reduce their "tax," it just doesn't make sense.

If, by change it is anticipated they will have a 17" under $3,000 with even close to that configuration, then I would sell mine just before it comes out and get the new one. This is a heck of a layout.

LOL I began reading it seriously..

specs seemed good

blu-ray had me ticking

the price sent me to the floor laughing crazy

More like

-1 usb port( hey you can all do wireless right?)
-new display port( hey its even tinier!)
-no firewire at all(useless)
-whole computer is a trackpad.

(specs come the same with a 10% performance bump)

The all new MBP.

No chance of Apple releasing models with Nehalem processors before Intel releases the processor. 2010 at the earliest for MBP with Nehalem.
New superdrive, supporting Blu-ray
Not a chance. No Blu-ray.
Hard Drive: choice of 256GB or 512GB SSD (no others available)
Keep dreaming! Apple's not going to make SSD the only option, especially with prices so high!
New two USB 3 on the left side and one on the right
USB 3.0 won't be available until 2010, so this is not going to happen!
Price: $1999 / £1299 / €1599
Yeah, and Rolls Royce is re-introducing the Silver Ghost... it will only cost $24,999.

Your village needs a new prophet. Preferably, pick one who's not drunk, high or deranged.

Such a comical prediction... If you're going to put forth a "leak" at least have the decency to do a little work and make it somewhat plausible.

why apple need to do this ?, unibody macbook pro only need snow leopard with hybrid sli. :D

Sorry but not true. 8GB RAM was just introduced on the market. It won't be until late 2010 that Apple would start shipping these laptops with 8GB RAM standard without an upgrade.
Right now you can buy 8GB as an option. Apple is usually behind by a year or so when it comes to shipping their computers with that high of a config.

New CPU: Intel Core i7 Mobile Extreme, 32 nm, 4 cores @ 3.06 Ghz, 12MB L2 cache, 1333 Mhz Bus fake you know how much watts that is?
New RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz Maybe up to, starting 4GB still and still @ 1066MHz
New GPU: Dual nVidia GeForce GTX 280M (SLI), 55nm, 1GB GDDR3 x 2 More like 256 and 512 again
New glass / anti-glare display (optional): 1900 x 1200 pixels I'll give you this one
New superdrive, supporting Blu-ray I don't think so, Blu-ray will never make-it, just competes with iTunes
Hard Drive: choice of 256GB or 512GB SSD (no others available) They haven't even announced 512 GB
New two USB 3 on the left side and one on the right More HP like huh
SDHC/SD combo card reader on the left side Really?
MiniDisplayPort to HDMI included in the package If they charge for all adapters and a remote, why not this one?
OS: Snow Leopard We don't even have OS X 10.6 release date of status on how finished is it
Other differencies: slightly smaller than the current model due to smaller screen edges (the black space will be almost gone).

By the way, front side buses don't exist for Core i7 processors! LOL

256 sounds just so 2008! Most PCs with dedicated graphics cards already have 512.

Doesn't mean Apple will adopt 512MB ... I mean if you do need 512MB you are either a movie editor that can afford a Mac Pro with 1GB GDDRx, a gamer who can shell out extra, or a graphic artist that works independently or in a company in which case the company can provide a Mac Pro or iMac.

In a notebook? I don't see 512MB as standard just yet. Gaming, 256 MB is enough for now.

Also, Apple is known for slow adapting of newer standards in capacity.

You said yourself "for now". We're talking about late '09 or early '10. I think the industry will probably have adopted 768MB or 1GB as the norm for high-end notebooks. Maybe 512MB then?

CPU/GPU just no.

A speed bumbed Penryn with a 500Gb 7200RPM, 640gb 5400 and maybe a 512Gb SSD is all that will occur! (assuming 512Gb ones coming out soon)
