This is the first time I have been so disappointed by an Apple event. How dare they kill MagSafe? How dare they axe that godly connector? I refuse to believe that MagSafe 2's requirements made it too thick for that new housing. MagSafe was one of those little but big things that set MacBooks apart from other laptops. This is much worse than removing the 3.5mm jack from iPhones. I still can't believe they did this. The only way to get any MagSafe functionality back is to go with some 3rd party trash which will leave a constant growth out the side of your machine. What on earth were they thinking? They could have easily had both MagSafe and USB-C.

OH AND, SD CARDS? HA NOPE. MY GOD I ONLY JUST REALIZED THAT ONE. THEY'VE GONE FULLY INSANE.

And why is the Trackpad so dam huge!! and the speakers so small.... they could've kept it as is. It works great on my 2011 MBP.

Does the 2.9 GHz 15" not have Iris graphics? A quick look at Intel Ark shows the 6920HQ only having a 530 HD, which could be why they didn't advertise it. Bummer if so.

No Iris Pro. IIRC I read elsewhere that Intel's quad-core with Iris Pro lacked VT-X(?) instructions and the quad-core with those instructions were only sold with Intel HD iGPU. Intel screwed over Apple on this and I fully expect to see an AMD APU in the next revision in 2017.

I guess it's in our nature to complain. I grew up with Apple as as a computer company. It hurts to see they spend so much time talking about a touch bar, when they could've revealed a:

- next gen iMac
- next gen Mac mini
- next gen Mac Pro
- 14" MacBook

*sigh* I guess we will just have to face the fact that the old Apple will never be back.

Edit: also, **** Intel and their Dual Core U processors. I really hope AMD will stirr up this piece of the market by introducing 28W quad core Zen's.

Mobile Zen is due 1H 2017.

Apple just gave all Pros the middle finger by removing useful ports. No iMac or Mac Pro. No Thunderbolt display. A redundant new MacBook Air. What do their engineers work on again? A car?

I was a bit shocked to see Apple announce an LG display to use with the new MBP, yet they never really focused on it. If they can showcase Twitter, you would think they could showcase LG's display.

Well, I'm replacing a 2010 MBP so just about anything is leagues better, faster, lighter, etc., etc.

I pulled the trigger on a 13" and, like another poster said, "come to papa."

The uk prices are absolutely ridiculous. Can't see many people paying these prices.

Welcome to Brexit!

I happen to like the new MacBook Pro (still undecided how the TouchBar will work in real life scenarios) but when I saw the price I was disappointed - £2,699 for the 512GB version....that's harsh. I was expecting around 2k!!

I could sell my mid 2014 MBP for around £1250 but that means I'd still need to find £1449...JEEZ!

Can someone tell me what the resolution of the 15 Mac Book Pro is?
Apple gets a lot of mileage out of "Retina" but what does that mean?
1080p?
in 2016?
Really?

LOL at all the people trying to act like the touch bar isn't anything special. Looks like a huge functionality improvement for using a notebook, and they specifically showed how versatile it is for high-level pro software. Nothing like it exists in the notebook marketplace currently.
Not much harder than using your trackpad n onscreen menus with your eyes looking straight instead

Screw Apple are you kidding me!??? So expensive for Skylake processor outdated tech and parts.
I waited a while for this and this is very disappointing.
Tim Cook is the worst CEO! Horrible!!!!!!
Looks like back to Windows & Microsoft for me.
Agreed. Windows laptops have had 6th gen for over a year. Apple is so far behind.

I wonder if they can cool graphics and processor good enough in the long run, we'll hear that later next Year ;-) . I more complain about the I/O, sorry, with a Pro Machine i want at least an USB Port, no pheriperical stuff around for TB3, oh wait, an ugly lookin 5k Monitor next to this beauty, ridicoulous price and some horrible expensive TB3 Adapters for all the missing the ports.... oh man, no Mini and no Pro, no new machine under 999$ -> The Magic turns into a hangover....

I think what bothers me most is the 16GB of RAMMMM, 8gb too? 32gb should have been an option at least to upgrade?

Depends on what pro software you are using. As a software engineer, I find the idea of having to look away from my screen to find the button to press on a small touch bar without any tactile feedback to be a horrible experience.

The touch bar seems like a huge gimmick that they themselves have fooled themselves into.

In a tiny half inch space you can 'elegantly and effortlessly scroll through your pictures'.
Why don't I just use the ******* 15 inch screen in front of me you mong?

As for app specific controls, again, why? The top bar shows me this and I could again just TOUCH THE SCREEN. Why would I continually look down at this touch bar? My eyes are on the screen.

I was 100% ready to buy a MBP and its not just a want but a need. I have to replace by breaking down 8 year old Macbook. I was looking forward to getting a modern computer. Not only am I not as impressed as I thought i'd be with the Touch Bar but the UK prices are so unbelievably ridiculously high that I've put my credit card back in my wallet. eBay here I come for a different pre-loved Mac.

Same same. My current 2009 likes to randomly turn off. All I can hope now is that these push down the refurb prices.

I like the Air and I was hoping for an updated air, figure the 13" 2016 Air's will be discounted, do you all think it will be a good laptop for several years ?
