I'm surprised that anybody is surprised that Tim Crook raised the prices. I mean he literally created an 'iPad Pro' series just to add a few small things and raise prices by $100!

This is Apple under Tim Crook. Enjoy your yearly prices raises. At some point Apple will only be for the very rich.

The Canadians prices are mental too. $6416 Cdn 15" and $3600 & $4416 (13") for specked out versions.

Kijiji here i come! heheh for the refurbs.

Duo-Core??? Intel Iris 540???

Seriously, that's awful value. Thinner isn't better. The processor is outdated, the graphics car is a joke. I honestly don't know what they are thinking.

Apparently we need thin, un-upgradable, tiny devices more than we need computers. #postcomputerera

Woooow, the pricing vs the features leaves me speechless.... Couldn't be worse. Pricing for the EU (Germany) MBP 1699€!! and that is without the Touchbar! How do they justify that price for the baseline model when it was around 1499 before. The Touchbar 13" is priced at 1999€. Imagine that 2000 Bucks for 13 inch base model with some LED strip

You guys get a touch bar and huge price hikes, my Alienware 13 r2 has an oled touch screen (Not to mention sales and dell gift cards). I think I was wise to leave Apple.
I moved from an iMac to an Alienware desktop and have been far happier (obviously with an external monitor too). My MBP is only a year old so won't need replacing for a while, but I doubt my next laptop will be a mac tbh.

Actually you can still buy the previous model rMBP 15" for $1,999 on Apple's site.
Albeit with the 256GB SSD.

That's still a very good machine.
I'm on a 2012 rMBP 2.7/512/16GB and it is still awesome.

think you should wait for user reviews on the touch bar before deciding
yeah i thought so, bu the thing is i kinda need it asap, and it might take a while for revs to come in, but like i said im not too inclined on it anyway, it might be useful, but i dont usually use function keys so, i dont see myself using the touchbar all that much.

I'm sorry, but this company is a complete farce.

Does nobody find it the least bit ironic that a company that likes to present itself as ultra-liberal and diverse caters its products exclusively to the bourgeois with these insane prices?

The mental disconnect and cognitive dissonance of this company is out of this world.

With Microsoft innovating at the rate they are and others pulling closer to Mac build quality for half the price I'm pretty sure the recent downward spiral in earnings is just the beginning...

The touch bar looks like a pretty cool feature. Hopefully its just a matter of time before it is included on a standalone keyboard so I can have it on my iMac.

Honestly, not impressed with the updates. Also surprised with such a huge trackpad they didn't include Pencil support

Hashtag **** the Canadian dollar
JNVQDrz.png

Its far worse for the UK. The 15" top tier model before you upgrade the storage and GPU works out to be $4,400 Canadian if you convert it from pounds. Its sucks for us but it really blows for anyone living in the UK big time!

$2300 for a MacBook in Canada. Are you ****ing serious.

$1800 for the non touchpad version.. wtf ... The sad part is that people will actually go and buy these things.

I'm buying a surface pro or Dell xps13. Obviously apple doesn't care about their user base.

Sad day for apple fans everywhere.

do these guys never use a usb drive on occasion or charge their iphone with their computer. Now I need an adapter for USB, plus all the VGA, HDMI, DP, Ethernet adapters I already have need to be replaced. lame. sick of adapters. Already tired of my earphone jack adapter on my iphone 7. And at least make a 512GB SSD standard. sheesh. Keeping my MacBook air. The slanted body is more comfortable to type on as well.
