I actually fell asleep during the keynote. Not sure if tired or bored.

I wanted to buy an iMac today (which we kinda knew wouldn't be released today). There is absolutely no point buying the current iMac when we know they're likely to be refreshed next year. Perhaps I'll try the Surface...

My current MacBook is surviving but recently had the logic board replaced and I doubt will last too much longer. I may have been tempted to upgrade my MacBook but at those prices and no 32GB memory option, I'll pass.

Tell me again how I charge my iPhone withour a usb connection and what if I need to plug it in to do a reset? #courage
On the off chance I need to listen to music and I only have my lighenting connected ear pods, where do I plg them in? #courageisadongle

Apple have always been charging a premium for their products, but this just beyond being funny. One could always hope that so many people would walk away from the brand (especially with the new MS stuff being announced) that they will finally get the point ... sadly that will never happen.

And I just noticed that they killed off the 11" Air ... CRAP, I was hoping to upgrade my 11" Air to a Macbook, but with still only one USB-C port that is no option.

Jonathan Ive might have done some great things with the original iPhone, but I no longer see him being the "great" design God some have made him ... Apple is no longer bringing out tools for the professional stuff, this is expensive toys for the few ...

i hear you. but i've been waiting for 4 years now to update. and this is good enough for me.

In the pre-Tim Cook era, Apple was known to under-promise and over-deliver. I think many were expecting to see just one presentation where that happens again. This wasn't it unfortunately.

rofl,

€ 3559 for a maxed out 15" with 512 GB SSD and still only 16 gig of RAM and at least € 2239 for a still under-specced 13" with 2.9 GHZ, 256GB and 16 Gig of RAM. i guess there are more important things i could buy for that kind of money.

I also felt very awkward watching Tim try to swallow that frog in his seemingly nervous throat for the first ten minutes. Honestly Tim, that should be your last key note. It's not worth the ignominy,

I would rather they kept the physical function keys and just slightly enlarged the trackpad.
For one, switching between the touch bar and the monitor is tiring to the eyes. And two, who needs that huge a trackpad?

Apple lately have been removing functions and ports at the excuse of "courage" and "low usage rate", except they ain't. They even haven't got the touch bar ergonomics right. If I were to use that touch bar frequently, where am I supposed to rest my palms?

Hashtag **** the Canadian dollar
JNVQDrz.png

LOL!!! I couldn't agree with you more. What's worse is the the bank of Canada exchange rate is 1.3411 today so if you were to goto the U.S. to purchase it you'd be paying more than if in Canada!! Unless you bought some cheap U.S. money that you had tucked away. Crazy!!!!

so let me get this straight, base model of the macbook is now 1800 euro AND i have to pay for adapters because it has no USB, HDMI Ports so thats another roughly 100 euro?

This is the last straw. my next laptop will not be a macbook

Apparently Microsoft's Surface Book also starts at $2399 but with a 13.5" display, 8GB RAM, and also comes with a 256GB SSD. So there's that.
