Hate to burst bubbles people but fingers crossed that whenever your Mbps do eventually arrive, that they are in perfect shape. A lot of people have had to return these new models including myself. I hope none of you will have to wait on a replacement like me. I only had mine a week and now another week to wait for a replacement. Make sure you all test these machines well from the day they arrive! apologies for the sprinkling of bah humbug...

Mine isn't BTO its just a standard MBP 2.53 320@5200 (i think) so ill just take it to my nearest apple stop (ironically in PC World) and replace it.
 
no tracking update for me yet... oh well

I hope all those who have get their MBPs tomorrow.

I think a defective MBP is highly unlikely. Lets face it - you only hear about it when they go wrong. Maybe you could let us know if they are awesome to redress the balance slightly...

Mine was a standard too. A tad annoying it would be to get a dud so best of luck ya'll

believe me if they are good-to-go, you'll be delighted with the whole package. Mine was a right-off from the word go, shutting down randomly. Gone back for tests. This fault seems not so rare if you look around the forums. Anywho, good luck with the lovely items as soon as they do arrive. Just make sure and test them out well in the first few days

The amount I've spent on this, if it isn't perfect its going back.

So I hope its perfect. I don't wanna take it back.
 
Mines now at the northampton hub. so its going in the opp direction to yours milly by the looks of fings.
 
Just ordered my BTO 2.53 with the 320x7200RPM. It's going to be a long wait. Finger crossed 10 days and I pray it'll be perfect. They should have weeded out the cosmetic flaws by now!

Is there actually much difference between 5400 and 7200?
 
I don't know if there is much difference between the 7200 and 5400, but at less than £30 to upgrade I thought why not. That slight change has meant I've had to wait over 2 weeks to get it. Although I'm happy to wait to get the right machine.

absolutely gutted.... all this wait just to get a defected comp!

Hope things get resolved and from what I've read make sure they swop your :apple:care over asap :p
