This is my 5th working day since shipping, but mine is being merged in the UK because I have ordered some accessories (which I now regret)

Wow, snap! Ordered the exact same CTO laptop the exact same day and I too have 'uplift' as the status.
I rang Apple yesterday and was told it would arrive in the UK this weekend and arrive to me next Wednesday ish. I told the guy I was furious and will consider canceling. The guy was surprised I wasn't happy to wait 3 weeks for a laptop. I might love Apple products but I feel I have been let down.

What bugs me is that I ordered it on the 29th and was told it would be '7 working days'. By the time it arrives it will have been 15 working days and 3 full weeks. And the fact they even quote 'working days' is ridiculous - the thing needs to be shipped from China... how could 'working days' affect shipping? Its just a tactic so they dont have to say '10' days' etc.

Small world! Did you find out what the "uplift" actually means? You don't think that they're getting plastic surgery already do you?

I plotted the range of shipping and delivery dates on my calendar just after I ordered it. Wednesday next week the last of the delivery dates. I will only start hassling them if I haven't heard anything by Tuesday next week.

Correct, and then there's the possible merging complications on top of that.

Its been doing that for a week now. I reckon the carrier just hasn't scheduled final delivery yet. Judging by what happened last night I could be in for a delivery tomorrow (he said trying not to get too excited)

Mine arrived today at 4.30. Had to wait around all day for it but certainly well worth it. It's a really smart piece of kit - and not a fault to be seen. Those who are still waiting don't worry they're not all bad!

BTW, I would recommend using the dashboard to track your gear, in particular taking a webclip of apple's tracking page and using this widget to save your refresh buttons. The webclip doesn't seem to time-out which is pretty cool and you can have multiple instances of the widget. I've use an apple and tnt one.
