i live in NORTHERN Ireland and i just dont like the way use are all going on about the new laptops that they come out with and all use can do is nothing but complain about it dosent have this or that

They really need to fix their pricing soon if they want to sell anywhere near the quantities they have previously sold. The redesign results in a short term burst of sales which looks good for Tim Cook so maybe in Q1 of 2017.

Q1 skylake sales
Q2 kabylake sales
Q3 iPhone 8, apple revenue is saved :)

Elimination of logo means more profit from not having to drill the lid and leaving out the other item is obvious. Kudos!
If by not having the light shine through it adds stability, then it would at least be a good technical reason. We don't need another bend-gate.

Just watch, Apple will include an A La Carte' customization +$50 bucks to include a glowing Apple logo on the back in addition to another +$19 for the ext. cord, pick your piece.

It's all about economics and ecological balance. The race to the bottom.. Everybody's doing it. The primal forces of nature are at hand..

So, this is basically the only adapters/cables/dongles you need to buy to have the same functionality as before..
Good thing it´s only $300...

I've never seen so much negative feedback from an Apple product. Ever. It's so strange and out of the ordinary, especially on an Apple-loving site such as this. But it is deserves it. I'm put off Apple by their poor, greedy decisions with just one product. And it really saddens me to say that as I thought I never would.

Sigh. What the duck are you doing apple? I hope no one buys these that they are forced to rethink their strategy.

I feel you all, but what the hell are you all gonna buy and work on instead? Dell XPS? Microsoft Surface Book? I was really schocked by the price and gimmicky touch bar, but i still don't see any other product equal in quality and service as what you get with the MBP.

This is why i am sad. i use that extension cable on my desk and unplug the adapter and travel with the plug module. I like I can do that. Ok save the planet and let me return it to the store instead of throwing it out or pack rat the f-n thing which the rest of my cables from 1995. They are also handy for the other products. Charger on the night stand and the damn outlet behind the couch on the desk.

I have a late 2012 with 768gb 16gb 2.6i7 I'm very happy but what's next. As a "Pro user" It's thin enought and I understand that batteries make the laptops heavy. 2 strap.

My desktop is a hackintosh cause the iMac is sexy but damn. 3k? Paying the Apple tax only goes so far.

What happened to the dock included in the original iPhone. Dock is now $50.

Go ahead and laugh I'm really upset and feel like I have to move on and OS X and the mac are dead. I get it the phone is most of apples revenue.

Reality is I am a sheep / smuck and will end up buying one in the near future and creatively justifinng why I don't need ports, current proc and ram.

Good thing I'm skipping his upgrade. Was thinking of upgrading. My Late 2013 Macbook Retina 15 with the same specs (2.6ghz, 16gb ram, 1TB) cost me about $3000 with Apple Care. Same specs now cost $4000 and that's without the Apple Care! Insane! Now you can't even add the cable that has come with Macs for a long time?! Pure bs. This line is now a complete ripoff if it already wasn't before.

Actually it's $2,999 plus $349 for AppleCare. Factoring in inflation it's barely $200 more.

Even upgrading to the fastest GPU and CPU don't get it to $4,000.

Problem is... if no one buys any more of their products, it will force Apple to drop prices or rethink their direction. If they drop the price it will improve sales but this isn't the point. Its about intent. They intend to take advantage of consumers.

The days when they actually cared about user experience and improving the world (to take a leaf out of Cooks language) are gone. Their intent when Jobs was around was different. Jobs saw that by making great products, quality and design at decent prices would NATURALLY drive the stock and profits up.

Nowadays, the intent to shaft us is there, not the intent to do whats best for consumers. Two fundamentally different and vastly opposing philosophises of the old Apple and the new Apple.

Dude.. this is a discussion forum.. in the past when Apple announced with amazing things it was filled with people talking about how excited they were. Why should they not be allowed to say how disappointed they are this time?

Anyone who can afford a Mac can afford a $19 cable. Apple knows that. The bean counters are running Apple and any dollars they can squeeze out of Apple customers they will. Apple has found out there are few ways they can keep the highest market cap and that's to keep customers paying through the nose for everything. Apple sees customers as little more than "walking wallets."

No, because it had nothing to do with homosexuality. It has solely to do with the fact that Apple is screwing over their clients. If this was about HP a decade ago I would have said the same thing about Carly Fiorina.

She would have required a dongle to do what you're suggesting :p
