they also aren't shipping 13" straight away. But its weird the apple store seems to have some in stock but shops like JB HIFI and Dicksmith don't. Also in USA best buy seems to be shipping with in 1-2 weeks.

Also to be noted, all three of the 15 inches aswell as the 17 inch are not available for shipping right now, just the 13 inches are available.

I really want this event to be announced by apple already!
So we know new MBPs are heading our way, I also think this would be a good time to introduce iWork '11.
I know this is a bit ahead of schedule since they usually do this in April, but could we see a tease for iOS 5

As long as they get rid of the Core 2 Duos in the 13 inch pro and bump it to a core i3 i will definitely be buying the first day they are out

So, if apple were to release the new MacBook Pros on Thursday, would they be available in stores that same day?

help!

When I bought a new mac book pro about 2 weeks ago, I asked the sales guys if there were any new mac books or pros coming out soon and they said they didn't know of any.

should I try and return it and get the new one?

Absolutely return it if you're still in the 14 day period.

Of course the sales guy said that because..
a) They want to sell you things, preferably now
b) They don't really know about these releases any more than us and most likely cannot start making wild guesses to the customer about them

You can try return it in order to get the newer one if you really think it's worth it.

You will never find it for HALF the price...

I would like to see a Macbook Pro 13 with the new Sandy Bridge. Now that would be something interesting.

Its definitely worth it, even if the update is minimal it will still be an entirely new architecture which is clock for clock faster.

If they come out on Thursday will I be able to go to the apple store that afternoon and buy one?

Apple last updated the MacBook Pros almost one year ago with Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors. Apple has been due to refresh the MacBook Pros with the latest Intel Sandy Bridge processors which are said to be a significant improvement over last year's processors.

MacBook Pro stock has been dwindling internationally and this morning two Italian sites listed give new MacBook Pro part numbers (MC720, MC721, MC723, MC724, and MC725) that are said to represent the new updates. The new machines are said to be making their way to Italian resellers towards the end of the month with a released date of Thursday or Friday.

We've since heard reliable confirmation that this information is accurate and that the expected release date is next Thursday, February 24th. The move would be a bit unusual for Apple to launch new machines on a Thursday. So, if you are about to buy a new MacBook Pro, wait until next week.

I'm officially sick of the MacBook Pro rumors that provide nothing substantially new other than "The refresh will happen on this date" or "stocks continue to dwindle". I don't think I've seen this many redundant posts prior to a much-expected refresh that don't tell me anything that I need to know. And what's all this nonsense about refreshes having to happen on a Tuesday? Last I checked, any day of the week was fair game for Apple launches.
