Im curious, why does everyone seem to want the MBP to be black if there is a redesign? Frankly I think the silver brushed metal look is so much sleeker, the black mockups look boring and generic. Sure i'd love to see a redesign, but more of the overall shape (slimmer?) than the color. Or even if they did change the color I hope they would go to the liquid metal dark grey before they go to black.

id otn want aaaall black i want black on the inside and silver on the outside :D

Exactly, like what they have now, or do you mean more than just a black bezel? And DrJohnnyN, exactly that: i think it would be spectacular.

It doesn't look like the wemac mockup is physically possible. The tapering of the Air (on which it is based) goes downwards, to provide a wedge-shaped keyboard, the underside of which rests on the table and the top slants towards the user. The front bit of underside the mockup looks like it's hovering above the surface of the table, while the top is flat, which would mean that it would wobble with every key pressed.

Or at least if you rested your wrists on it.

i meant the color here like black inside and silver outside

I seriously don't get the reason why some people are saying they'll hold off on buying the new macbook pros if they ain't redesigned, only because we are too late in the life-cycle of the unibody design.
Seriously guys, if you need a computer, you just buy it. It's even better if you buy it just when it's released. But restraining oneself from buying a computer only because it might get a new redesign next year is plain idiotic, if you really thought that, you couldn't buy any Apple product.

The fact is I don't "need" a computer. Yes it would be more convenient than my current setup, and make life a little easier, but I still have a decent netbook and desktop that fit all my needs. I don't want to purchase a design at the end of its life-cycle, especially when it's something I plan to keep for several years. How much more difficult will it be for apple to service the old models after they've been out of production for a year or two? And finding spare parts on something like ebay? forget about it.

Sorry, yes, I was just pointing out that I think there's something wrong with the PS work here. I do agree that the colour scheme you are suggesting would look nice. Already the black keys were an improvement to the older silvery ones, which looked cheap and nasty imo. The black ones of course are plastic, but they don't pretend otherwise.

also in the pic it is thicker than the air so its possible they would have an odd in that

Then we wait an hour or so after the date is passed and someone will post a new one that we can all check on every 5 minutes to see if it's changed.

sounds good to me. and they do it on the dot? like 10 am pst exactly
