Im so stoked! I bought my black macbook back in july. Just yesterday my dad asked me if he were to take my mac off me as I have got him hooked on them, that he will buy me another one if he gets mine! Now I here a new one is coming out soon, its just so perfect! I was planning on waiting for a newly released one back in july, now im so glad I have been able to experience the macbook and I still will be able to get this new one! Ahh it seems to perfect.

I've got a better idea - I'll give him my iBook if he buys me a new Macbook :)

Okay, so I had decided to wait for Leopard to be pre But tonight I tes drove my friends 15" MBP and wow. So fast. Responsive. Just amazing.

A 2.2 or a 2.4ghz?

There's a kext called AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext in Leo. That pretty much confirms Apple will be releasing a product using GM965 - a Santa Rosa MacBook.

:apple:

Great! It seems like the upcoming macbook will be a good platform for programming both in Windows and Mac OS x!:)

So I finally decided to pull the trigger and switch over to a Mac! Years of frustration with PC vendors and Win-turds have left me excited to start using OS X.

One problem though... that was about 12 months ago, and I have yet to purchase a Macbook. Why? The waiting game. Leopard, a stupid phone (who cares about a phone?) (actually it is super-dope), and the crazy apple rumor-mill.

You should have bought the iPhone. :)

I was but a dabbler in OS X (MacBook that dual-booted XP, which I spent most of my time in), but as soon as I bought the iPhone, it impressed me enough I started using the OS X side more. At that point, I just waited for the new Al iMac 24" to launch and out the door went my HP desktop and I am now 100% OS X outside of games (and even then, all but one game I do play is now native to OS X).

I'm so tired of waiting, but have decided to bu when the next revision comes.
I Really hope it will be November 6th!

Just to be sure. Is this really a confirmation that there's a new Macbook coming with the GM965? Or is there another reasonable explanation for this?

so..do you all think the prices will go up? i'm going to be ordering a macbook for $1219 at macmall tomorrow. if the prices are equal or less, i will consider returning the macbook and gettin the new one.

I'm pretty sure the prices won't go up. Apple is making huge profits from the current Macbooks, at least more than at the time of the last update, half a year ago. They could easily add SR, an LED-screen and a bigger HDD at the same price without hurting profits too much. Though I'm guessing if there's an LED-screen it will be optional like Dell's M1330.

IF a new one really comes out, i think that the standard ones will be without LED screen. the premium one might include LED screen and in that case, will cross 2000 usd..."just my guess"...;)
**oh, forgot to add that if it has a separate graphics card option :(

They're not going to raise prices on the MB's b/c otherwise they get too close in price to the $1,999 MBP. A lot of folks on these forums already question the $500 price/value difference between the Blackbook and the 2.2Ghz MBP -- no way that price difference drops below $500 (in my mind at least).

In europe the macbook went up in price after the november-revision last year. Hope that doesn't happen this year.

You shouldn't compare the high-end Macbook's with the low-end Macbook Pro's price anyway. Most people just go for the cheapest Macbook and that's as much as a $900 difference my friend.

I have no way of knowing whether that's really "most people" that go for the low-end MB, but either way I think we're just bringing up different viewpoints to support the same ultimate conclusion... I don't see the rationale for Apple to raise the prices on either the low-end or high-end of the MB spectrum.
