100% haha much heavier. I'd say about twice as heavy.Would you say the keyboard is a lot heavier than the Smart Keyboard?

yeah, since I've never done a live sessions before, it requires 1000 subs on Youtube iOS app or wait 24 hours on the website. sigh...
To answer your question, the only way to charge the pencil is through the wireless charging connector at the top of the ipad (when attached to the keyboard), the keyboard itself does not provide a way to charge the pencil.
There is no way (that I know of) to control the volume on the keyboard.
Id say about twice as heavy! but I do like it a lot, having integrated trackpad is nice, I'd say the weight is the only downside for me.Nice overview! Does it feel a lot heavier than the Smart Keyboard? Also - do you like it better so far?
That’s a shame...
Yeah, thought that all might be the case sadly. Was just hoping there would be somewhere to stash the pencil away more securely or a way to control more on the iPad more organically on the keyboard. Are any keyboard shortcuts working?
That does look very nice.Another full unboxing....

That definitely would be a down fall. That would mean it would be as heavy as the MacBook Pro or Air. Purpose of the iPad is something light. Guess will see when I get mine too, but wish they made it lighter.
it is very stable, and it doesn't feel like it's going to fall backwards too much (though I would still be careful!)How stable is it for typing when its on your lap?
Thanks!
Only thing i wish it had was on volume buttons on the keyboard but guess using it via control Center will do.
Can you weight it? You got the 11“?

Totally agree! Sad times.
Any update on your order yet?

I unfortunately do not have a scaleI know I know lol and yes it is for the 11"
No progress, still says preparing for shipment. Hopefully we see process by tonight? As it always arrives first available date. Is yours the same?
Aaah yeah mine is still sitting at the same “Preparing for shipment” status too. Seems to have sat at that for 2 days+ now though? Fingers crossed.
I’m sure we will both get it Monday morning![]()

I’ve had orders through Sunday before for Monday. Think my iPad Pro arrived on a Monday morning. My wife works nights so it’s good job I’m working from home as no doubt will get an ear full if the door bells goes so i will be looking at for it. Which is why i hope it’s DPD who will deliver as least then we know when it’s coming.Hmmm...you think? Even if it is shipping from within the UK, Sunday pick ups/carrier movements are pretty slow!

Just thought of another question: Does the “hinge” part have any kind of battery capacity within in it? So if you have the USBC plugged in...when you unplug it will it retain or pass through/charge any power to the iPad when not plugged into a wall?
Totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. Saves $20. Also buy with ApplePay for further 3% cash back.Don’t forget your education discount if you qualify for one.
Just got off of chat with Apple and they adjusted the price. Appreciate the tip and reminder. Every little bit helps. It’s expensive but I use the device literally all day long. I get a lot of value from it, especially since I use it to teach.Totally forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. Saves $20. Also buy with ApplePay for further 3% cash back.
I decided to cancel the pre-order as it is not very well made with low quality material.
