It took me a while to get an order in but I have a delivery date of next Wednesday

Funny - the delivery dates have already slipped. Crazy how many people must be following the tech sites to know that it launched and have snapped them up so quickly.

Like most new Apple products I would imagine this is also fairly supply constrained.

bought the new ipad afew weeks ago but i'm going to wait until the reviews my current setup is with an ipad holder wireless mouse and keyboard and i doubt i'll need it for afew weeks/months

if the reviews are good then i'll bite
I might do the same thing. It is down to the magic keyboard or the one from Brydge

Ordered, I bought the Magic Keyboard when I bought the new 11" iPad Pro and thanks to the return policy staying open longer due to stores closers I switched to this one. Not too worried about the price, it's the functionality and ease of use I am after to make me more effective which is sometimes the most important attribute. Even a millisecond goes a long way.

I’m excited to get one of the new Magic Keyboard cases, but I’m also happy with my current setup, given I’m desk-bound for now.

Actually very hyped!

I thought I'd have to wait for at least one more month, and I didn't want to order the smart keyboard folio again (I had it on my 2018 iPad Pro), since it has it flaws and gets really dirty.

I really hope it's worth the money!

if you don't use the trackpad for very much that would do fine. Reviews have been less than kind. Think PC trackpad and limited interactions expected.

Just purchased!!! Really excited for this one. I always hated the keyboards of past models but if it’s truly the same as my 16” for work I’m in for a treat!

I really hope the adjustable angle goes as steep as I want so I can watch TV in bed without my laptop or propping it up weird!

I’m also curious the wattage of the pass through charging, although I’m expecting slow and not too concerned about it

Didn’t the brydge get terrible reviews for its trackpad?
I think some of the early beta ones had issues. But they have had time for software updates. I'm hopeful they worked it out. The Brydge solution looks more like a laptop solution to me anyway.

Very interesting and I'm really pleased its shipping in April - perfect time for a comparison between a 12.9" iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and the new MacBook Air for me. I keep being undecided about which setup is best for me, but I do like being able to use the iPad as a traditional laptop-style device on the desk and then just pull the screen off and its a tablet.

Unfortunately the production ones seem to have the same issues with the trackpad - there were some reviews posted at the end of last week.

Thank the maker this thing is dropping early... hoping mine does arrive next week. I get that its expensive, but it is what it is. My iPad Pro 12.9 is one of my most used and important devices, and the current keyboard folio drives me nuts. Im in on this new one for having a real magic keyboard with backlighting, trackpad (apple makes the best), and of massive importance.... the ability to adjust the iPad to almost any preferred angle. I cant emphasize that last part enough. I use mine at my home office, at the dinner table, on the counter, on my lap, at my work office... sometimes sitting, sometimes standing, in board rooms. All told, being limited to only 2 view angles has been enormously frustrating.

not sure about this keyboard to be honest. It looks like ti would rock back and forth if on my lap on the sofa. Looks to be unstable? But I am looking for a keyboard for my iPad Pro 12.9

If lap-ability is most important, look at the Brydge. I have the OG version (no trackpad) and it’s what I use if I suspect I won’t have access to a table when I’m heading out. It’s built super solid, keys are very similar to the older pre-2016 macbook keyboards (plus backlit with the extra top row of keys) and the hinge is very sturdy. Downsides are it’s pretty damn heavy and it’s bluetooth (typical BT issues..lag waiting for it to wake up, have to remember to turn it off if you are popping out the iPad to use on it‘s own, and it needs to be recharged, though battery life is pretty damn good).

Some suspect that the Pro+ was designed based upon the older pointer functionality via Accessibility, so there’s hope that a firmware update may be able to add all of the new gesture functionality. I wouldn’t buy it hoping for that change but....

Ordered with Ed discount for 12.9. Tired of reaching for the screen all the time navigating and like the lighted keys for early morning/late night iPad use.

Ordered mine in the US with April 21-23 delivery dates. I'm using my 2018 11 inch extensively during this home lockdown, more than I ever have. Emails, Zoom calls, everything. Excited for this added functionality!

I hope the reviews come out soon. So many big questions about real world functionality.

- Weight
- Lack of Portrait Mode
- Lack of Esc/Fn/Media Keys
- Lappability (Elevated screen will make it very topheavy)
- Magnet Strength (no bottom bar = easily detached?)

I ordered mine but I may cancel and wait it out. I feel like this will make a lot more sense with iOS14.
