You never had a delivery date from Apple, you had an estimated delivery date. There's a big difference and if you made any critical plans around that date then you're getting exactly what you deserve.
My date's been pushed back too and I'm a little miffed. It doesn't affect my work or study, though, because I understand what an estimate is. I bought the first liquid-cooled G5 PowerMac and the first MacBook Pro when they were released. Both of them shipped late in relation to their estimates.
I suggest you learn from this experience.
