Just got updated shipping info. Estimated delivery 20th of Feb (This Friday!)

This is great news. As before I ordered on the 4th of Feb - Original Estimated Delivery was the 18th of Feb - So my order has only been delayed 2 days basically. :D - Specs in Sig. It's being sent to the UK.

That's great, tho' sitting here green! Was your shipping date email yesterday 17th or the previous day?
Here in UK I've still got 'in transit'. Called UPS who couldn't find anything from Apple's reference number & called Apple & got stonewalled by a woman who insisted that it was the same for US & UK in that MBP's can't be tracked until they arrive in USA or UK, which I know is cobblers.
I'm really frustrated by the lack of info as I guess we all are. Wouldn't be bothered if I knew it would be next week-possible trip this weekend (Theatre-not marijuana) and would hate to miss the delivery.
All the best.

Alright, with alot of people getting they're shipping dates, tracking numbers, prepared for shipping, and even getting these, what is the status of people who have placed an order in Feb.? I ask this only because I have placed an order within the EPP store on the 6th of Feb. early in the morning EST. When I had done so I didnt see the 3-4 weeks I saw the 7-10 days. I have ordered the base model and nothing more. The set shipping date I have on my order status is March 9th and delivery set for March 12th. Now thats about five weeks from order date.

So, with that rambling out anyone have their order changed that was place in February?

I ordered mine on the 16th. It says Ships out 3/17 and a delivery date of 3/20
:(

It looks like my order is 4+ weeks.

I have exactly the same thing, its so frustrating! How long can they be in transit for? mines been like that for 48 hours now.
Perhaps the plane crashed? or Apples walking them over here one by one? Or they didnt really ship and Apple just wants to keep us happy.

Anyone in Italy has got his 17-inch shipped?

I've ordered mine on the 30th of January, still nothing, but I admit I've had problems with my CC with may have delayed my shipment...
I don't know why MasterCard thinks that paying 2000+ Euros for a thing it's a sign of cc fraud...

Edit: stock 2,66, 7200rpm, Glossy, US Keyboard, IT Country kit

Mine has been "In Transit" from Shanghai since 1:21PM EST yesterday.

I hope it's close the US by now it's been 24 hours!!

Usually I get things from Apple quicker than they say so I'm thinking tomorrow the time.

we should have another thread that states what people are going to do first in terms of loading apps to their new 17MBP

I know there are loads of webpages stating what "have to have" apps for Macs, but I am wanting to know about this particular machine.

For example, for those apps most people purchase, is Toast a must have? What about Disk Genius, etc....?

theres nothing special about this machine, and as you said already loads of threads on this. this isnt a windows machine, the whole point with mac is you dont need loads of pointless apps. just get things you need.

Ordered 4th of Feb in UK with Estimated delivery of the 18th of Feb
The same day I received the delay email telling me my machine would be shipped out from Apple on the 19th. (Estimated) With no Delivery date.

On the 17th my Package said 'Prepared for Shipment' on the 18th it was Shipped, at which point I received an Email with a link to an Apple page where I could track my order via UPS. This page at that time said Estimated Delivery 24th (Subject to Change). I then checked it again around 12 hours later and it had updated to display the 20th of Feb as my estimated delivery date. I put the UPS tracking code in to the UPS website and it confirmed a Delivery date of the 20th.

As you can see the Estimated delivery date changed from the 24th to the 20th.

HOLY CRAP! I got prepared for shipment!!! :D

Damn apple customer service ppl sucks. I called them 3 times today and their responses are:

1. None of the 17" are shipping right now
2. You'll see your system shipped between the 27th and 3rd.
3. You'll see your system shipped between the 27th and 5th.

This will be my first 17" notebook system.

Thanks Quu,
Maybe then for us in Europe the tracking info doesn't work until it gets to Germany & then it tracks back to China & forward to a generous UK delivery time-that's what the Apple Stonewaller was saying today.
Previous Apple guy said once they get 'local' they really 'fly'.
Seems there's hope for earlier deliver yet & that's good.
Now to distract myself with lamb-chops, mint sauce & listen to the football & that feels good!!!

Canada Prepared for Shipping

I just had my status change a few minutes ago to Prepared for Shipping. I am in Calgary Canada. Originally ordered the stock config, but changed the order on 3-Feb to 2.93 and 7200 HD. Everything else standard (not a matte display). Will update when it ships, hopefully tonight or as apple said, on the 19th.

Holy Moly Batman! The Joker must have infiltrated Apple's shipping department.

Yeah! Prepared for shipment!
Very good thing... I was going mad, checking the order status on every international apple store site, then a Growl notification popped up and calmed down me...

This is very similar to what I have .. only on the Apple site it says "Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment Delayed 18 Feb 2009", but when I checked with the UPS tracking I found that it ..

"WARSAW, PL 18/02/2009 17:45 ARRIVAL SCAN"

Which probably means I may well be able to get it tomorrow!

Mine has been shipped on the 16th of February but the Tnt status has changed few hours ago to:

18 Feb 2009 18:13:40 Melegnano Shipment Rerouted. Recovery Actions Underway.

I'm Still hoping that the Tnt-ninja-recovery-team be able to recovery my precious mbp ^_^'
Seriously, does anyone have an idea about the meaning of this status? maybe it's just a little delay, but that "rerouted" scare me a little bit..... anyway tomorrow morning I will call Tnt to try to figured out what happened...

you can see my order/config here.
Bye

My machine's with yours: same time, same place (Poland). Quite a trip if you believe the tracking info:
China -> Germany -> Korea -> Poland. (so far)
... oh, and I still don't have a delivery date from UPS while Apple maintains 19 Feb (changeable).

Wail, When did you get a UPS tracking number? With my 'in transit' I've only got Apple's ref that gets me nothing on the UPS site. Did you get a separate email?
Thanks

After checking the FedEx tracking site more times than I care to mention, my MBP has been shown to be 'In Transit' for more than 24 hours. FedEx claims that it missed the plane or whatever and the deliver date has been moved/changed. Funny, they do not seem to update their tracking page much after In Transit and, calling the 800 number is NO help either. So, I guess the estimate delivery date of Feb 20, 2009 by 10:30 AM, per FedEx web site, will not happen after all. No one seems to know anything except when their day ends!

Anyone that had 2-3 shipping ship this morning (meaning you got the tracking number this morning USA time) and your delivery shows estimated for Friday 20th? Mine says 23rd.

I am just curious if mine may showup before the weekend.

Frankly, this is really pathetic on my part. I wait for a month for Apple to ship, they finally do, and I am clamoring concerning whether it will show up before or after a stupid weekend.

You may be surprised how fast that puppy moves. Just like that Apple sight, FEDEX gives you the latest, but frankly, they want it to you early just like Apple does.

In New York

Anyone in NY waiting for their Macbook Pro with a shipment date of the 18th and arrival date of the 23rd? My tracking says its in Transit in China as of Feb 19, 2009 2:32 AM Origin time with FEDEX. Keep me updated!

I haven't seen "in transit" yet. Mine was picked up about 4 hours after yours.
