Still... Nobody has learned what Bricked means.
People don't suspect these updates will mess up their installs and they shouldn't necessarily expect that.
In the nature of software development there is only so much testing you can do. I appreciate you respecting the dev enough to say it's not his responsibility and I can understand how frustrating it must be to have your phone that was working fine get screwed up from an update.
Hopefully Saurik gets the kinks sorted out, but one can only expect so much from software that was never inteneded to be on the iPhone in the first place. What he's done is nothing short of amazing.
I hope people aren't too scared off now to update their phones in the future. This is a small incident in the grand scheme of the updates that pour out of Cydia, if it messes up your phone then it will be unfortunate and may cost you a couple of hours to get it back up and running and it sucks. If errors don't come up and reports aren't made, Saurik will have no clue they even exist.
I guess I'm saying just to have faith in the dev and take some chances. Shi... Stuff happens!
