Online option for the USA contest?

Vick7 said:
no purchase necessary
On the contest site, one could fill out a 10 question survey every hour and recieve a free PIN to play. You could only fill the survey out once an hour, and your answers on the survey didn't matter (i.e. you could put an X in the spaces rather than a real answer).

Note that in reading the rules posted on the Apple site (http://www.apple.com/itunes/pepsi/rules.html ) I see nothing in the new USA version of the contest indicating there will be similar chances to win

boohoo!

I have got the email sent out to work that I have dibs on the unwanted itunes(winning) caps. Have to specify that or they would bring them all to me just to be funny. I am set and ready to keep an eye out for them.

I put signs and collection boxes on all the machines in my office (as well as sending out emails like you) requesting winning caps and I got a lot of freebies that way. There are some good people out there!

Good luck!

More Confirmations

Just to add to confirmation reports, I checked 5 various convenience stores around my college campus (including Kum and Go, Git n' Go, and Qwik Trip in DSM, IA) and all have the promotive Pepsi products (although only in the liter bottles). Here's hoping the college machines have them soon so I don't have to pay for overpriced soda ;)

Current Record: 2 for 2 :)

You have convience stores called Kum and Go in Iowa? That's the funniest thing I've heard today (keep in mind that it's only 7:45am here). At least they didn't spell it the other way. :D

Those store names are quit catchy. :D

I'm happy to see that Cherry Pepsi is included in the contest, enjoy a different taste sometimes.

I've often thought that myself. Fortunately, they don't have any hotdogs or large drinks named in such a way as to add to their interesting choice of a name.

I suppose I can't complain too much since you can get a 64oz. refill of any fountain drink for 99 cents.

I kinda wish Apple would team up with like, Aquafina or Dasani for this promotion. I don't drink soda too often, but I down about 6 bottles of water per day. (Don't worry, I recycle. :))

I agree. Aquafina is a Pepsi product. It would be nice for them to include the water. I'm not a fan of Pepsi at all.

I wonder if it has to do with the profit margin of Aquafina? Also with todays low carb craze, the water may be even more popular than Pepsi.

Pepsi Bottle Sighting in So Cal

So, I saw and bought an iTunes Diet Pepsi bottle today! It was the 20 oz. one (they didn't sell liters, it was a convenience store). It just so happened to be a winning bottle, too! (Hmm, how'd that happen? :D ;) )

I picked up the bottle in "The OC." If you're in "The OC" and want to know where I found it, PM me and I might tell you. ;) Parking can be tough there, though.

Could you explain about "The OC"? You are avery lucky person, winner at the first try. I purchased just the 20 oz size last year, a chance to get more free songs. Have you decided what song you are going to purchase yet?

I would like to confirm the presence of the promotional bottles in Omaha, Nebraska.

Specifically, the Wild Cherry Pepsi in the first bottle machine on the left on the ground floor of Arts and Sciences Hall at the University of Nebraska at Omaha has the caps, and I imagine that it is not alone -- sadly, the one bottle I have thus far is not a winner, but the bottle is promotional and that is a good sign, and for what it's worth they have Please Play Again on three rows now, shaped more like the good stuff to make tipping a bit more hard.

HAHA. :) Didn't actually think of it like that. It was pretty, agreed. I think they got carried away with the song, and ended up preaching to the kids. Kids don't like getting preached to. I think ads along the lines of the current iPod ads would work. Instead of the silhouettes dancing, they could be drinking? In a cool way, of course.

Silhouettes drinking Pepsi. That's a good idea. Provided some good music backed it.

Lst year's came across as idiotic in a way -- trying to smear the line between unlawful (you can get sued) and illegal (you can be fined or go to jail) -- none of the people pictured were "prosecuted" as the ad stated, but in fact probably got a cease and desist order or maybe a lawsuit that was settled out of court.

Note that they said "watch for our ads during the Super Bowl" or whatever. More than one ad? Either Pepsi bought multiple slots, or Apple pitched in on the advertising this time.

Well there's that "The OC" television series now. :) "OC" refers to Orange County, a real place here in CA, where the show purportedly takes place.

I was actually quite sneaky and able to tilt the bottle to see if it was a winner, so it wasn't a total accident that I got a winning bottle. That's why I'm not publicly stating where I got the bottle: hordes of eager Macrumorians will wipe the poor little store out of their supply of winning bottles. ;)

I did a vast survey (one Ralphs supermarket in West Los Angeles, an hour north of the OC in typical traffic). No iTunes Pepsis yet.

The bottles are now available in large quantity in the New Orleans area. My first 3 bottles were winners.

Holy **** really? I'll have to stop off at Wal-Mart on Veterans on my way home from class tomorrow to see what I can dig up.

They are in Minneapolis too. My first two bottles were winners. Ahh, who am I kidding....I never buy a loser, I look first. Redeemed them already hoping not too many would be redeemed today and help my chances of getting a mini ipod.
