I don't see how religion has anything to do with this.

And we faked the moon landings too.

I'm afraid Jody Foster said it best. The simplest answer is usually the right one. No clues of any kind about the iPhone 5 and lots of clues about the iPhone 4S. You put it together. But keep it simple.

Of course, i would not be surprised in the least that the new phone ends up being what the parts point to, ie a slight spec bumped iphone 4. Imagine the screaming if that was the case! :D

Edit: it would be crazy to think there's a possibility that we don't get a new form factor iphone (5) till next june, with the gap between the 4 and 5 only filled only by a spec bump 4. Would apple do that? Maybe a company so big, one thats crushing all other smartphone companies would do this!? It would annoy a lot of the fanboys. I've happily resigned myself to getting a cheaper 4 off ebay and getting ready to enjoy the new iOS. Got to be better than my stupid BB 9700!

Sorry, I wasn't trolling, I'm English and just having a sense of humour is a bit lost on you...

I'm British, or so says my passport.

Anyone reading the last few posts would think that you're trolling. You've given me the response I needed so that anyone can't accuse you of trolling.

Don't think, if we get a redesigned model, that we will see a bevel anywhere. I'm hoping for aluminium unibody and edge to edge screen...

Yes, iphone 4 does look industrial, especially with a $20 rubber band around it!
I think you're getting bevel and bezel confused (understandably). That photo clearly shows a white bezel border, which I also hope is going away.
A bevel, however, is the rounded back & edges found on the 3G, 3GS, iPod Touch, iPad, etc. which means a beveled back would be a step backwards in design.

And it's your problem if you're using an iPhone with a rubber band around it; I use mine nude with no problems...

It is interesting to see the issues with the iPhone 4 antenna and how people resolve it, and how people don't see the issue .

Are you for real?...Ha-ha-ha hilarious!:D

A guy was just put in prison in the UK for cyber-bullying & trolling the families of murdered children. I think there's a difference between me making a joke on Macrumours & him.

Good luck with your life Mate...

Yes, I am real, are you real?

Sean Duffy, who has Asperger's Syndrome. Yes, I am aware of the case. I didn't compare you to him though.

It is finally making full sense to me. The iPhone will not be a redesign. It will be a stupid speed boost.

The Touch has had a very similar design since it was released, and it's definitely due for an upgrade and so that is what all those cases are for.

I dunno why I didn't think about that before.

If this turns out to be true, and all the evidence is pointing toward something like this, then Apple can suck me.

Anyway, back to topic, I'm glad you've got that off your chest...
I never bought an iphone 4 because I was waiting nearly a year for the white model to come out. By the time it did come out, the new model was due, and so I still wait. Also, I'm left-handed so that pretty much precludes me from making calls. As regards to the phone's signal capabilities,to anyone with a clear mind, there is definitiely a design fault. Steve jobs admitted this even.
Me,I'm just going by what my friends say about their iphone 4's. They love the design, but it shouldn't ever be at the cost of poor phone performance...period...
Call quality on the first model was terrible, but we forgave this because it was a game changer.
The 3g was an advance in features, but not in design.
The 3gs was a great advance again in performance, but still had the same cheap design.
The 4 is the ultimate in style over practicality.

After 15 months, I would hope that R & D would come up with something special which is cutting edge in design and tech that actually works as a phone too...

I personally never liked the iphone 4's design but, that's just my opinion.
The difference between ipad & ipad 2 is immense. Ipad 2 is a classic piece of form & function. i want the same in my next handset if it is gonna cost me £600+...

Apple doesn't spend much on R&D as other companies.

The original iPhone wasn't that bad.... I still use mine.

Well, maybe they should...
The original was 2g, had a useless battery & no camera but a working touch screen was new then. We forgave it's failings because of the software and the lovely piece of aluminium it was cased in.
There are no more excuses for this iphone model after 15 months waiting...period...

I think it's come quite a way, but iPhone does have limitations. It might be wise to spend some more on R&D.

Thank you, a mere mistake on my part...I do know the difference...

Unfortunately, i don't find this interesting at all. I'm surprised that we haven't seen any leaks about the iPhone 5. That's what i'm more concerned about.

iOS 5 brings iTunes-free activation so this must be some iPhone 4 prototype from last year :D

Actually, if the firmware is somehow corrupted/there was a failed restore/there is no firmware this still happens in ios 5. I know, I've got it running the beta, and it's happened during upgrading (and yes I'm a developer)

BOGUS! Why wouldn't the iPhone 4s be running the beta version of ios 5? Isn't the new ios supposed to be PC free?

See my last post in this thread

The fact that it's running iOS 4 leads me to believe this is just an old white iPhone 4 that was leaked.

Why do you claim it's running iOS 4? I have the betas, and if the firmware gets messed up during installation, or if you somehow screw it up another way, you still get this screen because you can't do a clean install without a computer (unless you can turn it on and boot it)

a partially-assembled next-generation iPhone seemed to be showing an "iPhone 4S" design running on an A5 system-on-a-chip.

I'm confused... The A5 based iPhone SHOULD BE the Iphone 5 (Five)...

Makes sense right?

Pretty sure there would be backlash if Apple only released a spec bumped iPhone 4 instead of an iPhone 5.
