Wouldn't it be funny if Apple spent a couple million on a campaign of misinformation regarding the next iPhone.
If any company could afford it, it would be Apple.
I gotta say, the reason why I don't think this is legit is becuase the security at Foxconn can't possibly be this bad!

Yes, but who said Tim did not authorize the "leaks" these past couple of months? It's a huge marketing tease. It's really the equivalent of, say BMW or Audi, decking their "test" cars out in camo a couple years before intro and then bit by bit removing it as the car's launch date grows closer. If the car makers wanted 100% secrecy they'd 1) never remove the camo until introduction and 2) test cars in very remote locations where the car paparazzi is less likely to be.
But the car companies, like Apple, want the publicity; they want to get people excited and hyped up about their next product until all they can do is rush to buy it on launch day or sooner. It's a big game. People here take Tim's words (and did the same with Steve's) way, way too literal and concretely.
Looks good to me! It's really not that much different than the current 4/4S so the taller/sky is falling people should sit down.

NO.
Not the case.
In B4 the non-believer - in denial - "Why a taller iPhone???!!!?!!!?" crowd shows up.
MacRumor crowd lately:
"Why a taller iPhone?"
"I am still hoping for a 4.3 wider iPhone!!!"
"It looks like the 4S! I want a dramatic redesign!"
"It doesn't look comfortable!"
"Tim is doubling down on secrecy! These are fakes!"
"Why is the headphone jack on the bottom? That's so stupid and asymmetrical!"
"The design is awful! I'll be sticking with my 3GS!"

YOU ASSUMED THAT THOSE WHO GIVE THESE COMPLAINS WILL ALSO BE THE ONES IN THE PICTURE. THAT'S A FLAW.![]()
If these leaks are proven to be true. This has to be one of the worst kept secrets. One of the things about the iPhone I think for most people is the anticipation of what it will look like and features.
The rate it's going I almost expect to see someone showing a video of a full working model before the Sept date LOL.
It's almost like asking for a PS3 for Christmas, finding it in your parents closet and playing with it 2 months before Christmas while they're gone to work and then trying to act surprised come Christmas morning.
And then we have mods posting stuff like this!
Come on, please. There's no need for every bloody thread about the iPhone to include childish conspiracy theories about misinformation. If even the moderators can't keep the standards a bit higher, what chance do we have?
Did no one read the article? What is the stuff about the protective shield? Does that mean back panel, or is it some kind of cover that flips onto the screens. Very confused.

But everyone who buys an Apple product is on macrumors!
If, like many people say, this is NOT the iPhone (Parts) to be released but a "purpose" leak and Apple turns out to magically display a different device, I think I'll be shocked/amazed by Tim Cook's doubling down on secrecy method... :x
Why is it childish to propose that? It's a well-known fact that Apple has, for years, implemented decoy projects and manufactured hardware never intended for release to weed out leakers. This would be no different, though on a much larger scale.
