Looks good to me! It's really not that much different than the current 4/4S so the taller/sky is falling people should sit down.

We heard the same story with the iPhone 4 leaks.
- Oh so ugly
- No way this is a Ive design
- Too rough for Apple
- Controlled leak
- Blah blah blah
- More wah whaaa whaaaa!

It is going to be anther beauty.

Personally it doesn't matter to me. I'm probably going to buy the Note2/S3 this time around if the leaks are proven true.

I was saying some people like the surprise but there are other forums here besides iPhone but a lot of the rumor stuff still pops up on the first page.

Some of you guys get too defensive about a phone:cool:

Who's defending anything? My post didn't even mention the phone. I'm wondering why you come and complain on a rumour site about their being too many rumours. If it doesn't worry you then why moan?

I just wish there were fewer time wasters here so it would be easier to find the posts worth reading.

Tim cook hasn't leaked anything specifically from an apple employee.. It's the china factories that he can't control.. I mean. It's better than the prototype sitting in a bar like a little Easter egg.

I think it's pretty clear now that this is what we are getting. To many consistent leaked for this to be fake IMO.

You mean like how the leaks regarding iPhone 4S having a tapered design that case manufacturers started producing cases for the new design ahead of launch, only to find a released phone identicle to iPhone 4?

Seriously, stop with the speculations.

1. The external antenna iPhone 4 design was plagued with scandal of handheld reception issues enough for Apple to offer a free case program: I doubt they will repeat the design.

2. There is no better way for your company to lose stock value and investor confidence now that Steve Jobs have passed on, and you show a complete lack of innovative flair by repeating a design in his absence.

3. Apple is invested in a million/billion dollar law suit re: intellectual property rights with competitors. Do you think they would give these copycats a head start by teasing a leak of their new design?

4. By measure of precedence, no previous next gen iPhone has looked like the preceding generation, what makes people think the iPhone 5 will resemble 4/4S?

So much for added security. We know exactly what we are dealing with, and still over a month to go until announcement!

I gotta say, the reason why I don't think this is legit is becuase the security at Foxconn can't possibly be this bad!

It doesn't even have to do with Foxconn these parts are being sent to Foxconn from all over the place to be put together... its somewhere in that they are being leaked.

There were never any leaked parts for the tapered iPhone last year. Those were all renders and rumors made up. There were 4S part leaks showing the same design as the 4. We got the 4S, not the tapered.

Leaked parts this year are pointing to the same situation as last year.

There! Up there at the top! crowbar82's post. Those are some hot looking telephones, no?!

I mean, both white & black (light & dark?) versions look great! Look at the camera on the light one! That action looks fresh out of NASA!

Lovely! But then, I love everything new. New things are great. Much better than the old ones :p

Here's proof, if proof be need be:

New FTW...

To my eyes the older bus is a classic - the new one looks meh.

?

But they fixed this partially on the CDMA iPhone 4 and fully on the iPhone 4S. I doubt they would fix the negatives with their design, keep the positives, and then abandon it so soon.

Wouldn't it be funny if Apple spent a couple million on a campaign of misinformation regarding the next iPhone.

If any company could afford it, it would be Apple.

And they would only have to do it once, as all future leaks would be considered red herrings.

But... the evidence continues to mount up to the contrary

I'd love it if this was some kind of controlled leak of misinformation, just because it'd make us all squee like a good ending to a thriller with a believable red herring. I don't think that is the case though. I'm not upset with this design, but also not blown away. I ordered the 4S the hour it was available for pre-order, but I don't think I'll do that with this one.

Given that Tim Cook's got the supply chains lined up to the point where it became unprofitable to hoard the new releases of iPad for resale this spring, I think I'll wait to be able to hold the new iPhone in the store and see for myself what it's about, listen to all the tales by the early adopters, then decide whether to buy it. Something tells me the wait times for the new device will be far less than we've seen in the past, even given unprecedented demand.

Yes, but who said Tim did not authorize the "leaks" these past couple of months? It's a huge marketing tease. It's really the equivalent of, say BMW or Audi, decking their "test" cars out in camo a couple years before intro and then bit by bit removing it as the car's launch date grows closer. If the car makers wanted 100% secrecy they'd 1) never remove the camo until introduction and 2) test cars in very remote locations where the car paparazzi is less likely to be.

But the car companies, like Apple, want the publicity; they want to get people excited and hyped up about their next product until all they can do is rush to buy it on launch day or sooner. It's a big game. People here take Tim's words (and did the same with Steve's) way, way too literal and concretely.

I hope you aren't really that naive.

In B4 the non-believer - in denial - "Why a taller iPhone???!!!?!!!?" crowd shows up.

MacRumor crowd lately:
"Why a taller iPhone?"
"I am still hoping for a 4.3 wider iPhone!!!"
"It looks like the 4S! I want a dramatic redesign!"
"It doesn't look comfortable!"
"Tim is doubling down on secrecy! These are fakes!"
"Why is the headphone jack on the bottom? That's so stupid and asymmetrical!"
"The design is awful! I'll be sticking with my 3GS!"

Launch Day:

They're just a minority, so your post/pic doesn't prove hypocrisy at all. You'd have to find a member with the new device who specifically said they wouldn't buy it to show that :p Which has happened in the past by the way.

Notwithstanding the avalanche of info pointing to this being the new phone, as I've posted elsewhere, I still can't wrap my head around this being the phone Jony has been working on for two years and that Steve ultimately made a priority up to his final days. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Why is it childish to propose that? It's a well-known fact that Apple has, for years, implemented decoy projects and manufactured hardware never intended for release to weed out leakers. This would be no different, though on a much larger scale.

larger scale = doubling down?

perhaps

DOUBLING DOWN ON SECURITY I TELL YOU... right? guys?

I'm getting very tired of this phrase and its worse than the iPhone naming deal ... I can't wait for the iPhone to get released so I can stop coming to this forum for 'news' and end up hearing the same old phrases...

another theory :D, these leaks are real but only concern the iPhones 4/4S succesors:confused:

Agreed, the same thing happened with the 3rd generation iPad.

Everyone knew about the retina display before it was released and the width of the iPad.

Face it people. This is the new iPhone and Apple will sell millions. No use fighting it.
