Racist much?

Huh? Like it or not, Mid East would go crazy for this color. And it has nothing to do with their ethnicity, but rather their culture and sense of taste. It's different from the one we have in "the west". Not better, not worse, just different. To recognize that fact is not "racism".

Same goes for China. Ever wonder where those Vertus are being sold to? ME and China. What we might consider tacky or gaudy, is stylish to them. Ad there's nothing wrong with that. Different folks, different stokes.

Steve is rolling in his grave.

The same Steve who introduces iPod minis in this same color? The same Steve who introduced the Dalmatian and flower-power iMacs? That Steve?

Gold Mockup

I honestly thinks this could look very good.

I hope this comes in black which apple will sell more of. Then Apple will see how they have wasted manufacturing costs.

What's with all their recent design decisions from hideous appeal to pre teens with ios 7 and rich yuppies with gold casing. Bring back Steve and Scott.

Champaign would look fine, but I can't believe very many people would buy the shiny gold one. Then again, I also couldn't believe anyone would even tolerate driving a car as ugly as a Prius or Aztek, and I was wrong.

I bet they save this for the 128gig option. Gold "was" unfashionable but is actually back in vogue this season so up yours gold haters.

If you need additional proof that Steve Jobs is dead, there it is.

How long until we get someone to remind us how Steve used to love his gold car, or once championed some other hideous gold aberration?

You have no sense of style if you aren't able to tell the difference between the aesthetics of ugly Apple 2013 and the Apple mid-2000's.

Yes because faux leather, green felt and linen is so beautiful.

Horrendous - the 2nd Fall of Apple?

This is the most ugly, ostentatious electronic device ever. I'd take M$FT's brown Zune over this piece of getto art. Wow, now I'm really starting to wonder about Cook's leadership if this is true.

I'm just hoping that IF this is real, it is some kind of very limited production to commemorate something special and will be gone after this release of the iPhone.

Seriously how much does "KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has offered accurate information on Apple's upcoming product plans numerous times" pay macrumors to advertise his business?

They write that because they know all the comments will be about the fact he is an analyst and that analysts don't typically know what they are talking about.

It's apparent that most Macrumors Forums readers absolutely detest the slightest taste of change. So weird, so crazy. It's not like Apple is ditching the tried-and-true black and white models and only going with gold. I would understand the gripes there. Yet, adding another color to appeal to new customers that otherwise may not have given a second look to a "looks-just-like-the-iPhone-5" model. In fact, I'm trying intrigued by this color and just may decide on it if it comes in a 32GB flavor.

Damn, the comments here really set a new record for stupidity. It's a color-option, get over it. Don't like it, don't buy it. iPod mini also came in gold, in case you forgot. And like it or not, iPhone is a global product, and in some markets gold will sell like hotcakes.

you're missing the point

He gets paid by KGI Securities. You really think MacRumors is paying to fly him around and talk to supply chain people?
