Why does anyone care about color? In all probability it's going to have a cover.
Personally I'm holding out for a purple phone.

I wouldn't touch red and black with a 10-foot pole. You got to remember your opinion is not the majority's. Apple made this phone based on what color combination would sell best. I trust their data that suggests red and white is better than your opinion on a random forum site.
Your opinion is not the majority's, either. I would only buy this if the face were black. Notice that all iPhones with black faces were the only ones to sell out last year. What's the most popular color, year over year? Space grey with black face

Seriously, who cares? Another color of the existing iPhone, another option for the storage,
another watch band. Where is anything REALLY new? Where is a Mac? Any Mac? iMac, Mac Pro, anything?

sheesh, chill out...Macs get refreshed in summer/fall...this wasn't a keynote event

That was before you let your personal desires become your expectations.

Well said

Can't you just buy a black replacement screen? Doing that at a repair shop is usually like $100, but I thought you could also just buy the kit on Amazon for like $50?

Terrible idea....Never, EVER replace the display on your $900 product with a piece of s**t you get off amazon for $50. you will absolutely regret it. I never understood people who ruin their devices this way just because they want some ugly color on the front. Especially on the 7 and 7+ models, good luck finding the right parts and doing it without screwing it all up.

meh

very lazy from apple...at least make the front red as well.

Front has always been black or white since 2011...why you would expect any different is beyond me. Then they have to stock special red screens in stores for replacement, alter the manufacturing process, etc. its just more logical and efficient

this has been my problem with the ProductRed line since the very beginning. Red + White is just... meh. Red + Black, you couldnt keep those things on the shelves.

Well, that is your opinion. I'd say that Red+Black is just... meh. Red+White though, they'll be selling every one of them that they can make.

I think you're both a bit off, given the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone is red because of the association with the HIV/AIDS group. I would assume Apple looked at both black and white screen bezels (and maybe even red) and chose white for a reason. My guess is that the black bezels created a strange black and red look that was off-putting (which is how I would see it).

Now that I realize... they have 3 phones with white fronts and 2 with black. They should've done this with a black front so it's 3 and 3.

Nah. This is just refresh stuff. Apple will do a real presentation and press release for new iMacs and stuff in a month or two. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

I'm hoping for a new Macbook Pro announcement too >.>

we can all dream :p

This is all about branding, Project Red branding to be specific. Their colors are Red and white. So the black front would have not been appropriate for a 10th anniversary collaboration.

I'd be more impressed if all their phone sales donated a portion to (Red). Apple is the Silicon Valley Show "make the world a better place" trope.

The silver home button ring is disappointing. Having red there would've looked awesome.

Silver Touch ID ring is epic fail. I have never once used a Steve Jobs line but seriously, these would never of gone to production if that ring wasn't red to match the back.

MKBHD has such a big audience on youtube that it makes sense for apple to send him a phone for promotional purposes.

And in turn eventually you cannot trust any of his reviews anymore because he's a non-official official sponsor to all these companies now.

We all have our opinions and it's great that we can voice them here. But regardless of our opinions, they will sell everyone of these they make and like most new colors, they will sell out quickly and there will be a backlog to get one.

My Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch with black band and Jetblack iPhone 7 w/ Red Leather case fully disagree with the color scheme of white on red.

Will Apple give 5% or just five bucks to AIDS?

BTW, If you swap to a black screen, you will loose Touch ID unless you keep your white button.
