I'm just trying to understand why that block has to be protruding from the watch like that? on the existing watches the side button sits flush with the body... why do we need this weird little block to hold it on this watch? I mean I'll reserve judgement for when I see the real thing in person... But that just looks unnecessarily horrific to me.
Perhaps it's to lessen the chance of accidentally manipulating the crown during activities.

I have a stupid question for anyone who owns an Apple Watch. Is it bi-directional. Meaning I can wear it on either wrist and have it orient properly.

Cause I notice that the crown is on the right hand side of the watch. If I wear it on my right wrist so that the crown is on the left will the watch be upside down....or orient itself correctly for me being left handed?

Thanks for anyone's info. I can live in a right handed world, Just prefer not to. :)

Tom
Yes it will.

By the looks of it, I won’t have much competition snagging one of these up.
I think it'll sell out quick. Don't let the users here or really on any Apple forum or subreddit make you think one way or another. They are a very small percentage of the Apple customer base and the majority of them just complain about Apple.

As far as looks go I like the simpler appearance, probably California. But I am stuck on Infograph with all eight complications.
Thank you for the reply only reason why I’ve been following this thread for the past few hours.

I ask cause I’ve been using only battery minimal watch faces lately.

Yeah you can choose the orientation so the Watch works accordingly on either wrist.

I like the look. I guess I'm in the minority here but I like the chunkier look to my watches. Kind of wished they made these in larger screens TBH. That price tag though is a worrisome. I'm getting the 14 Pro and need a new watch as well. Looks like Apple card will be getting some work here in a little bit.

As excited as I am for a new watch, the Pro will be – if priced as predicted – highly unappealing to me.
I can justify the high cost of an iPhone by using it for 3-4 years and selling the old one for a good price. The watch however is way more exposed and prone to slight wear and tear, making it a harder resell. Plus, the new features make me more likely to upgrade every 2-3 years.

I’m looking forward to this design trickling down to the regular Apple Watch and even more to Apple Watch 8.
Perhaps they’ll introduce the Apple Watch Upgrade Program tomorrow. 😂

I mean I know some watches are even bigger than 49mm, but 49mm is already a HUGE watch even by modern standards. Further just compare for a second the Garmin Fenix 7 (47mm, best selling “high end $1k” sports/smart watch)… that has a 1.3 inch screen. The Garmin Fenix 7X at a ridiculous 51mm has a 1.4 inch screen. This new Apple Watch Pro at 49mm of case size has a 1.99 inch screen because of the tiny bezels! The screen is monstrous even compared to the larger competition! On anyones wrist this will look like a computer, on smaller wrists it might as well be a TV. Needless to say I think at this size it will be a very, very unique look.
