Nope, not if they neglect them. There's hardly any marketing done with Macs. Not that I see many commercials period these days, but i've never seen one about Macs. There's no focus to put them in schools.

It's all iphones and ipads. And horror stories of schools buying ipads and regretting it.

No focus to put them in schools? What the ****? Where are you located? Jupiter?

Apple is boring... is like going to the same club but with different management.

I remember ages ago. A friend of mine had a recording studio, full of people, making a load of money. He was moving and he sold the studio to some guys, some idiots who believe they would be making the same money.

Within a week of being sold the studio was empty. After a month even the receptionist left.

You can have all the technology but you need the genius behind.

Apple has been surviving because of marketing techniques and stock movements like dividing each share into 7. And yes, the apps and the iPhone. But you can go so far. Resizing and making thinner... can go so far.
Are you even on the same planet as the rest of us? Apple is the most valuable and profitable company in the history of business.

What do you do that requires the highest specifications possible? 3D rendering?

The thing with this is, people can just buy a custom PC for rendering. Not trying to get in with the 'Macs aren't upgradable!' haters, but if you need pure specs to run a renderer, it's much cheaper to have a PC than to pay extra for a Mac which has features you'll pay for but won't use.

Generally Apple has done a poor job at naming things for a long time.

Phones = iphone with a random number and a letter. iphone, 3, 3g, 4, 4s, 5, 5c, 5s, 5se, 6, 6p, 6s, 6sp
Tablets = iPad with a non-intelligible pattern of words. ipad, 2, new, mini, 4, air, air2, air pro, air pro 9.7
Laptops = no clue what they are doing since they dont change names with each version like on the iOS devices. Mac pro, Mac, Air (add year and size on your own)
Desktop = no clue since they have not actually upgraded in years. imac (add year you were born in and either 21 or 27), pro (only one release ever)

Tim should really get together with his marketing team and figure out a naming strategy. Because it really is a bit silly at this point.

(i of course left out all the old names no longer used. That would have made things even worse)

It's not really that. But more of why would you pay top dollar for old tech? Apple demands a premium. Premium brand. Using old tech runs counter to that. Users happily pay that premium because they want the best.

If i'm going to shell out 3k for a laptop, it damn well better have the most current processor in it. I'm not sure why any Apple user would defend them when they neglect products.

Introducing the iPhone 7

What's a Computer?

Introducing Windows 10 Mobile

What is having no Apps?

What is having a very poor browser?

What is only having 12% of users on W10M?

What is a platform (Windows as whole) that has no future?

What are analysts saying about the estimated sales for the iPhone 7? I haven't seen anything to date, but I imagine the estimates will be WAY down compared to previous releases.

I have a sneaking suspicion this keynote is going to rival WWDC 2016

Yeah something like Windows 98 SE Second Update would be great

comments like these are boring. and wrong. and naive.

I really don't understand what people expect. How could they make some major change to the phone every year and have it always be meaningful and useful? I'm glad the Pro thing is unlikely true, because it would mean they're grasping for straws to look innovative. Nothing wrong with a slight tweak for an update. If they went to a redesign every few years like the Macs I wouldn't mind.

Nope, professionally business analytics, graphical analysis, temporal analysis, virtual machines, and software development. Semiprofessionally, audio. When I ask myself, why am I waiting on the computer right now, I know that bigger and faster will improve that. When I have to lean into the screen to get the detail of what I am working on or continually switch or search for windows with the info I need, I know the screen size is too small. When I continually have to plug and unplug things ( and currently I have 4 USB ports, 1 ethernet port, 1 display port, and 1 power port) I know that 1 or 2 ports are going to be very frustrating. When I am in my office I run 2 extra monitors. I always use several external drives even at the client. When at a client it is very frustrating to be limited to a 17 inch screen, let alone a 15 inch screen.

I also run a lot of VMs (its is easy to isolate client work in VMs) and with my loss of confidence in Apple, it seems to me that I should be asking why stick with Apple. I already do things in VMs with Windows (some clients require that) and various linux distributions. It used to be the benefit of Apple software and hardware was worth it, but now the lack of performance is making it painful. You see there are still professionals that tax the hardware and need the best in a portable platform. Apple no longer makes the best, or at the very least is in a 4 year dry spell.
