This is do old. SD storage is more than fast enough for music, videos and camera storage. High end DSLR cameras, video recorders and music players use it for storage and it is a fraction of the price internal flash. And users can select and update post purchase as they choose. Apple would never consider it because it goes against their price gouging methods.
Problem with that idea is that fast storage is necessary for the OS so things load quickly--many apps are up over 100MB now. SDcards are good for secondary storage, but once you go there, it adds complexity to the interface and the OS. Google knows this, so Pixel (and Nexus before it) also lacks a microSD slot. Android has been toying with moving away from this storage type since 5.0, because this storage medium can be easily removed and accessed outside of the device, posing security issues. Onboard storage, not so much. Also consider that MicroSD is not a very reliable storage medium. Of the 5-6 cards I've owned, about half of them have gone bad and failed to read anymore. It's not as simple as adding the slot anymore.

Pretty curious how Samsung with do their full screen phones coming up(its bound to happen now).
I love competition. If they come up with a truly full screen phone Apple will follow eventually without the notch.

Couldnt agree more with this ad. I am so angry with Apple right now. Years behind on pretty much every feature and to add insult to injury then tack on an extra $500.

A full screen phone without a notch, camera, or any border whatsoever is inevitable on all makes. It's the way technology is moving.

Getting excited for Apple to respond with an ad showing a Note 7 exploding...

Never going to happen. Apple does not beed to answer like that, somenpeople may be sensitive to it (explosion is not nice)

What Bothers me, is how much reviewers love Samsung. Their display is really beautiful, but at the end of the day it is still Android. Camera is great, not better than apple.... but the reviews always give a few more points to Samsung... or Pixel

Agree. Samsung does bot have a full screen phone
And apple’s corners on the noth are functional. It does not bother a bit to me

Samsung did a good job with this commercial. For so many years, we samsung fans have had more. You guys are so behind and still behind. I can't wait to see what the future of Samsung brings since we are the only ones truly innovating.

Why is Samsung so fixated on trying to make Apple look bad? There are people who likes iPhones and people who likes galaxies. Get over it and move on.

It’s not a terrible ad but I’m not sure who it’s playing to. I don’t think iOS users really care about stuff like this. Are they just catering to Android users in these ads? I don’t get the point. People don’t seem to get that most iOS users don’t worry about what other platforms have or when they get it and why we don’t, it’s just great when Apple implements it, the execution is solid, and it improves the platform. Makes zero difference to me what is happening with Android.

It's just good clean fun. It doesn't hurt anyone. Samsung has a massive marketing budget. They have plenty of commercials showing features. They just like to poke fun at Apple. It's great! They know damn well that commercial isn't getting anyone to switch.

they didn't... they showed the iPhone X ad at the end but.. never mentioned "notch" ... i think some X users are a bit touch about the notch... lol. if all apps would hurry up and update for it, the notch would never be spoken of again.

They sort of did at the very end, one of the guys standing in line had a notch-like haircut and he stared directly into the camera.

Woah! Why are so many folks being salty about this? I guess y’all are getting paychecks from Apple.

Let’s check the receipts. Apple needs Samsung because they can’t make these displays on their own. Yet folks forget that.

I would say the bigger issue is why are folks defending a megacorp who’s entire existence lives and dies on the success of a single product?

Yeah i don’t use Samsung stuff but they are really diversified from construction to finance and Apple is not.

Anyway I’ll get back to enjoying my gadgets y’all have fun being the PR defenders of Apple.
Seems like either these posters have no sense of humor or they all own Apple stock.

0:53 i want that haircut lol
You can't. It's been patented.

Truth is Samsung s8 (haven't try note 8) is a better value phone, with less compromises than iPhone (a true all Screen device and headphone jack), is also older than iPhone and still looks better, and so far Android N is much faster than IOS, and with the next version Android O it is suppose to be faster, even if it keeps the same performance will be good - and that is something Apple cannot do. Apple releases tech years after others, which means they can use more mature hardware, is not that they do "things right", they do things years after the others, of course there must be a evolution. As long as they sell well, Apple has no reason the change the way they are, for me... I won't buy anymore something from a company that intentionally make devices that last only a year.

Just saw this commercial (or at least a shortened version of it) when I was watching the NFL. At first I thought it was an iPhone commercial as they were featured prominently in it. It wasn't until the end that I saw the phone and thought that the phone that was shown wasn't an iPhone and then the Samsung at the end.
With the iPhone 8 series not selling as well as expected and the iPhone X readily in stock right after launch i would say the ad is not even needed, people are already moving away from the iPhone. (puts on flamesuit)
I guess that depends on where you are. Where I am (Japan), it is not in stock. Yesterday, there was some stock early in the morning at two Apple stores about 160 miles away, but they went out of stock quickly. My local store has had no stock at all. Today, there was virtually nothing.
