I do like my Pencil (apparently not a stylus :D) for my iPad Pro, but I’ve never been particularly fond of them on a phone. Last one I had was my Note 4 and I honestly never used the stylus. Guess I’m just a typer by nature.
[doublepost=1509925025][/doublepost]I owned a Note 4 and a Note Edge, both of which came with styluses. I used the styluses rarely.

him using the headphones and charging with the dongle while her phone is charging wirelessly and she can't even use it cause she can't take it off the charger. oh what a genius comparison
That’s what I thought too! At least he can use headphones, her phone is sitting over on the table unable to be used.

Based on the quality variances I’ve seen among the 10 Samsung phones my family has owned since 2016, I was a bit apprehensive about how things would go for Apple in using Samsung displays. There isn’t a lot of choice, though. When it comes to OLED, Samsung has the lead. But they can still produce some clunkers, like the pink stained mess on my S8+. Their software fix mitigates that, but only on the over saturated Adaptive Mode.

Most people say they like Samsung hardware and not their software. I like their features and amenities, but find their hardware quality highly variable. When it’s good, it’s very good, though.

And they do a very nice job making VR affordable and accessible.

I’m neither a fan nor a detractor at this point. What I am, is dismayed at finding on every forum people who talk like programmed commercials for Samsung. There are times I start to wonder if there was any truth to that ridiculous sounding conspiracy theory that Samsung actually pays people to troll fans of their competitors on social media. A juvenile ad like this only makes me think such nonsense behavior more likely.

Samsung did do some clever commercials for the Note 7. That was a really fun phone to use and could have been truly great and special in its day. It was a huge shame about the fatal design flaw it had. Samsung commercials are best when they leave Apple out of it and just show off what their phones can do and have a catchy background track. It was a Samsung commercial that had me looking up the music of “Lucius.”

I don't think Apple would ever consider MicroSD expandable storage, it's slower than onboard flash. As for waterproofing - there's lots of videos on Youtube showing the 6s held up when dropped in water. Kind of like how the original Ap

This is do old. SD storage is more than fast enough for music, videos and camera storage. High end DSLR cameras, video recorders and music players use it for storage and it is a fraction of the price internal flash. And users can select and update post purchase as they choose. Apple would never consider it because it goes against their price gouging methods.

I appreciated the "notch" hairline. lolz

Samsung would s**t their pants if they ever launched a phone that generated cash flow like the 8, 8+, and X have.:D
You are so right! Wasn't there a story on here about how Samsung makes more money of components sold to Apple
than they do the total sales of their phones? Heh, so Samsung is making fun of its biggest customer and also
the current owners of iPhones...strange strategy.

Apple, Samsung, and Google all work together as partners, so I really don't care if they parody each other. Reminds me of the scene in Pirates of Silicon Valley. Steve wanted Lisa and Macintosh teams to argue.

I miss Scott Forstall. Apple doesn't have that deliberation anymore.

so stupid lmao samsung just stared making good phone and they still blow up hahah

You mean like Apple's Mac vs PC series of advertisements?

At least those had some content; this is why this and this are better than that and that.

This literally makes one point; the stylus (which is preference at that and 99% of phones dont have and people are ok with that). And a brief rip at the headphone jack (give Samsung another year or 2 itll be gone) without even saying their phone/showing it had one!! We know but the general public has no clue

The water resistance hasn't been an Apple issue in at least 2 years now. Im not sure what they are trying to get at there.

Samsung showed nothing why their device is better there. Typically those pure bashing/mockery ads just come off as desperate.

I like the ad. It's not insulting to anyone. It was very well done. Admit it, at least a 3rd of you have at least one time have seen "Update ready! You need to free 1.3 GB of space first!". Maybe more then once.
Be honest.
I love all technology. I am not a fanboi. And I generally agree about not mentioning your competition. Drives me nuts when Chevy's all "we beat Civic on....". Whatever.
But I like Samsungs ads.

Chevy is annoying as hell. JD Power, JD Power. It's literally all they can advertise these days.

Oh and pretending people would confuse their $25k small SUV with a luxury vehicle; what a joke.

Samsung is showing that if you want to live in the future, choose Samsung. Apple is living the past, catching up all the time. Right now you have to live with the notch if you choose iPhone, in Samsung's world the notch is non-existent. Similarly with the other technologies, Samsung had inductive charging, water proofing, OLED, 32GB+ base storage, bezel-less, larger screens etc earlier than Apple, and in some cases several years much earlier.

LOL sorry didnt get that out of it. You're selling a phone TODAY versus what Apple has TODAY, not 2007, not 2013, not 2015. No one is buying a 3 to 10 year old device to care about that history;they see what is in store now.

I think Apple include these features when they are ready to, not just because they can. Fingerprint ID had been around for years but Apple didn't include it until they got it right. In my experience of using many different devices, Touch ID is the only one that works every time without repeat attempts or adopting a "knack" of using it. Waterproofing could have come sooner especially on a watch that, from launch, has always been targeted at the active lifestyle market

Yeah but I didn't mention TouchID, They did fingerprint right and before the other companies offered it (apart from Motorola on some crappy phone no one bought). They were late on water proofing, microsd etc - The things I said.

I don't think Apple would ever consider MicroSD expandable storage, it's slower than onboard flash. As for waterproofing - there's lots of videos on Youtube showing the 6s held up when dropped in water. Kind of like how the original Apple Watch is essentially water proof but isn't advertised in that regard.

Yes MicroSD expandable storage is slower. But it's still 80MB/s which is several times faster than it needs to be for Videos and Music, you know the kinds of things that use a lot of storage. Had they confined a MicroSD storage system to media only I'd have been fine with that, 32GB-64GB would have been fine for apps with a 128-200GB MicroSD for my Songs and Videos.

I love my iPhone 7 Plus, I had to get the 128GB model where 80% of the storage I've used on it is taken up by music, I'm sure I'm not alone with that. And yes you can say "Just get an Apple Music subscription" or "Get Spotify" well we don't all have unlimited data caps and there are many artists I listen to who just aren't on either service.

But I made peace with the fact that Apple will never offer expandable storage through MicroSD so I'm just saying, other makers have done things before them and often just as good as Apple ended up doing it like water proofing.

ALL TRUE (video), crazy. But I'll still take my secure, I can click any link click (almost) any button, without worry, iPhone... and my click any link click (almost) any button, without worry, Mac. Oh, and they are all sync'd with my SICK Watch! (don't forget AirPods...)

Apple is so deep in Samsung's mind. :)

C'mon Apple, hurry up and find an alternative to Samsung's displays.

If Samsung came up with an iMessage copy, and my friends started switching over to Samsung, and Samsung guaranteed day zero Android updates for three years, I'd switch in a heartbeat.

iMessage and updates. That's why Apple keeps winning.
